Deconstructing an Olympics Entry!

Only one more day to get in your entries for the Blogville Olympics! I've entered a whopping total of 28 events!! My sissy Cinderella and kitty siblings are doing their part too. Now, our beloved Mayor Frankie posted examples of him training for every single event. That's exhausting! Instead, I'm going to show you just one event and the process Momma and I went through to get our GOLD MEDAL ENTRY!

For our example, I chose my very last event to enter -- POLE JUMPING! This one was a challenge to me, because my yard is very flat and there aren't a lot of obstacles around me to practice jumping on. And Momma doesn't want me practicing on the furniture. (Boo!) So we got a little creative setting things up in the backyard.

Really, Momma? A broom??

But this was set a little too high for mine and Cinderella's preferences. I just went around and around, and Cinderella decided it was better for a limbo than a leap.

Merry-go-round, whee!

How low can you go?

Okay, so Momma decided to lower the pole a little.

Now it was just time to get us to jump it! Isn't it fun when you get your human to act all silly by pretending you don't understand what they want you to do? I kept telling Momma, "Huh?", so she would jump over the pole again. "JUMP, Casey! JUMP!" BOL, humans are so funny! So finally I decided she'd worked hard enough. Just time for one more trick -- the old "doing the trick so fast she can't get a picture of it" trick.

Did you like my trick, Momma? BOL!

Finally, it's time for the money shot. Are you ready??  Let's JUMP!

Gold medal, baby!

To see all of the amazing entries to the Pole Jumping category, be sure to check out Bert's blog on August 2nd.

And don't furget to send me your KEEP AWAY entries by tomorrow, July 18th, at midnight Central US time! You can send it to dreagoddess(at)gmail(dot)com.

Finally, I want to say a very sad farewell to a dear furiend.

My sweet furiend K lost her battle with cancer yesterday. Her story of not just living with cancer but living life to its fullest was an inspiration to Momma and me. We will never forget you, K. I'll see you on the Rainbow Bridge someday!

I know K's momma KB would love to have your support. You can visit her here.

  9. Casey! You are so bad! Making your mom jump over the pole over and over and pretending you didn't know what she wanted! Then jumping so fast she couldn't get a photo!

We can't wait to see all your entries! I think I entered about 5 competitions. My staff and I have been really busy.

    Your pal
