Guard duty

Hey folks, Jessie here! So last night I was happily playing with my toys and running in and out of the dog door, like usual, while Momma watched TV. But then suddenly I felt...It.

There was a disturbance in the Force! Or, well, in the air pressure. A storm was coming!! So of course I had to immediately abandon playtime and go crawl up right in Momma's lap. To protect her, of course.

Don't worry, Momma, no skeery storms will get you while I'm on duty!

...But, uh, could you keep up the petting? Just...cause.

Throwback Thursday: One cool dude

As July draws to a close and we look ahead to the HOT of August, I'm thinking back on ways to stay cool during the summer.

If you LOOK cool enough, it helps you feel cooler too!

Wordless Wednesday: Rhapsody

I'm not wordless this Wednesday, but sweet Rhapsody is!

Isn't she adorable? LBR foster Rhapsody was rescued after we think she got hit by a car. She had to have extensive surgery to repair her jaw -- both sides! -- and fractures to the roof of her mouth AND her leg. Owie!! Rhapsody has an internal brace in her mouth, keeping her from moving it at all. There's just enough room for her cute little tongue so she can drink and eat soft food.

Good luck, Rhapsody! You'll be barking up a storm in no time.

Sigh

Is bloggal neglect a crime? It really should be. This whole last week Momma has neglected US and the blog, which is just inexcusable. Sure, she SAID she was at some conferencey thingy for work, but is that an excuse? Really??

Now accepting applications for blog secretary.

Thank you from the bottom of my heart!

I'd like to take a moment to remember a very impawtant day. Eight years and one day ago, I don't like to think about. I was sick and lonely and skeered that I didn't have much time left. I wasn't even a year old, and I knew there had to be more than this! But THEN eight years ago TODAY, the most wonderfulest thing happened. My Uncle Kurt and Aunt Joni came and said they were from a place called Legacy Boxer Rescue. They said they were going to be my new foster pawrents and make me all better so I could find a furever home.

Thanks to Uncle Kurt, Aunt Joni, and all the wonderful folks at LBR, I got the vet care I needed to become a healthy boy. And after give months of foster care, I found my MOMMA and became her FUREVER CASEY.

I can't thank all the wonderful folks at LBR enough. They saved my life, and made Momma's life whole. Today we'll be making our regular donation to LBR in honor of this special day, but I don't think anything can ever be enough to say THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU!!

Cow Appreciation Day

Today is Cow Appreciation Day! I appreciates cows SO much. I appreciate them for hamburgers. I appreciate them for steak. I appreciate them for cheese 'cause it comes from milk. I consider cheeseburgers my Ode to Cows. Mmmmm. So appreciate a cow everyone!

Jessie sez she appreciates cows for their fashion sense too.

Good news Tuesday!

Jessie here! Last Friday I had to go to the dogtor for my regular kidney checkup. They have to steal my blood and pee every few months to make sure my medication is still at the right level and my kidneys aren't getting any worse.

I was a little worried about it, but I'm a super-duper extra good girl at the vet. They LOVE me there. And.....

Good news!! My kidneys are still at the exact same function as last time, so my medication is working pawfectly. Woohoo!

Dancing the summer away!

I sure hope everyone is going to be at the Summer Dance over at Christmas's blog today! I was so excited about this -- a chance to dance with my lovely Ciara and enjoy the summer with all our furiends!

I decided to make a day of it, so I picked up Ciara early and took her out to the beach so we could kick off our summer right.

Then I took her for a sunset stroll. Doesn't the sunset make her furs just look AMAZING?? <sigh>

We ended up at a special little place I planned, for our pre-dance dinner.

We had a glorious time!! Now we're ready to kick our paws up at the dance. See you there!!

PeeS: Don't furget to submit your photos for my Pawlympics BOXING event by July 15th! Send them to me at dreagoddess(at)gmail(dot)com!

Just no words

We are so sickened and sad about what's happening in our beloved home Metroplex right now. 11 officers shot, 3 of them dead at the latest word. (Edit: This morning's total is up to 5 dead, and we hope that's the final count!)

We have nothing to say, just we're safe and hugging each other tight tonight.

Guess who?

Guess who came to visit last night????

MY BOY!!!!! He is MY boy, not anyone else's Boy, and I love him and he loves me.

Oh, and Auntie Jess came to see Jessie.

But in the end, I guess we're all Momma's, and she's ours. :D

Our houseguest

We had a houseguest this weekend! LBR foster Joelle needed a place to hang out on Saturday and Sunday while her foster pawrents went out of town. So Momma said she could come stay with us!

It didn't take her long to settle in with us.

Unfortunately Joelle is a little selective about other doggies, so she spent most of her time with us hanging out in her hotel suite. But we still kept her company!

Doesn't she have the sweetest face? I wish we could've played some! She's teeny tiny. Part of that is needing to put on some weight, of course, but she's about Jessie's size otherwise.

Eventually we all settled in for some good quality sleep before the skeery boomers started up.

Joelle was already home by the time the boomers started, so it was up to us to pawtect Momma. But don't worry, we didn't let anything get her!

So how did all of you enjoy the weekend?

Happy Independence Day, 'Merica!

I'd like to wish a very happy birthday to the good ol' U S of A! And you know what howlidays mean in OUR house...

Yup. Posing in funny outfits. Siiiiiiigh. Over the years, I've learned to put up with it for treats. But Jessie not so much.

"Casey, I can't look. This is just too embarrassing!"

"Oops. It fell off."

"Momma, she's just not taking this seriously!"

"Fine. I'll face the camera, but I don't have to like it."
"C'mon, kid! Just smile for the camera."
"I just don't like stuffs on my head!"

"Okay, no stuffs on our head. Just look at the flashy beast and we can move on to the barbecue!"

"...Did you say barbecue?"

Happy Fourth of July, everyone!!!
