An adventure making new friends!

Momma and I had a fun adventure meeting new furiends today! Momma didn't have time to take any pictures, so I'll illustrate with some stock photos.

There we were, finishing up our morning walk. There's a street we sometimes cross one way for a longer walk or sometimes cross the other way to go through a little playground and head home. But what did we see?

Some new furiends were running to say hello! They were sure in a hurry, barrelling straight towards us!

Momma was sure feeling tense for some reason, but I knew they were furiends! They came running towards and sure enough --

There were not this many of us, but it's a good illustration otherwise!

We were happy and playing like old buddies! One of them was a beeYOUtiful black boxer named Rocky. He knew Momma could help him when he and his brother got lost! Once Momma got hold of his collar and could dial the number on his tag, his momma came straight to get them both. We kept them busy by playing until she could arrive. And then Momma and I headed home!

As we were leaving, Momma muttered, "Phew! I thought we were going to have to run to get on top of the playground equipment!" I think that would've been a fun game. I'll ask Rocky if he wants to play that next time!

Unjustly accused!

Folks, can you believes how cruel my momma is? You'd think that after all our time together, she'd have a little faith in me. See, this weekend, she was very proud of herself for baking her furst loaf of bread. Our Guy gave her a baking cookbook for her barkday, and it turned out pretty nice.

She had a slice or two from it and was saving the rest for Our Guy to taste. But later that day, she came into the kitchen and... well...

I'm not sure WHAT happened to that thing, but can you believes that she blamed ME for eating it?? Just because I happened to be standing nearby and licking my chops? The nerve of her!!

Making her work for it!

Hi folks, Matilda here! I knows Momma and I has been MIA. We wanted to come back to raise a margarita to our dearest furiend Ruby the Airedale. She has been corrupting me since I was a young pup, BOL! And she was a good furiend to Angel Casey before that. We are thinking of her and sending much love to her momma.

Since we is here, I thoughts I'd share some pictures Momma and I took yesterday. It was a totally gawjuss day, so Momma and I walked all the way to the pond at the front of the neighborhood to visit the ducks! While we were there, Momma said "Let's take some pretty pictures, Matilda." I said okay, but you know Dog Rules -- make her work for it furst!!

 "C'mon, Matilda, look at Momma!"

Hang on, Momma, I think I hears something.

'Smile for the camera'?? BOL, good one, Momma!

What do you means you furgot the treats??

Sorry, I think I hears something. VERY impawtant.

But finally I tooks pity on Momma and gave her the Money Shot.

Sleepover camp!

No, don't worry, I'm not going away again. Momma and I are hosting a sleepover camp this week. Guess who for?

Yup, it's Verity! Verity is the official office dog at Momma's work. She works very hard comforting victims of crime. This week her momma is at a conference, and her secondary handler is out of town. So since Verity and I are bestest buds, we offered to let her hang her leash with us. And OMD, are we having a blast already!

We wrestled and played bitey face!

We had long serious conversations that--

BOOM!

Wow, she picked that one up quick! I took her for a nice long walk to see the sights in our neighborhood and show her all the best places to read peemail.

And it turns out we have the same favorite game! We played lots and lots and LOTS of tug!

We watched the Olympics with Momma.

Momma says we're just like two peas in a pod, whatever that means.

I'll try to get Momma to share some more pictures of our super fun week!

It was an exhausting furst day, but it was only the start of the most pawesomest life EVER! I loves my momma, and we have the bestest times together. She said tonight we're going to have an adoptiversary adventure, so I'll tell you about that later. Happy three years, Momma!

It's Taco Tuesday, and I'm celebrating with my new friend, Senor Taco!

Our Best Guy gave him to me, and I loved him immediately. I asked Momma if she would throw him.

And throw him...

And throw him!!

I gets the fuss now. Tacos are tasty!! And fun! Eventually I collapsed into a taco-induced coma.

It was sure a grreat weekend!

My bad*** cutie mark!

So I told all of you folks a few weeks ago that I got into a little spat at daycare. Not just with any dog, but with Momma's boss's dog!! BOL! But hey, I didn't start it, and I taught him how to treat a lady.

Anyways, what Momma didn't let me show you then, because she was too upset about it, was the result of our little disagreement.

The daycare folks told her I got a "scratch," but then I came out like this!! Momma freaked out, but when she looked close, it wasn't an open wound like it looked like. It was more a deep scrape. Since there was nothing to stitch up, Momma just kept it clean and put Neosporin on it in hopes it wouldn't scar.

As days passed, she wasn't so sure about that! But I told her I didn't care, I like it! Auntie said that it made me look like a "badd*** My Little Pony. BOL!! They call the marks on their hips "cutie marks," so that's what Momma started calling it.

By the time Momma cames back from Hawaii, the scrapes were gone and it was just bright white. Now it's faded dark. Momma is still hoping that my furs will grow over it and it won't be so obvious.

But I kinda hope it stays like it is. It makes me look super tough, no matter what I'm doing!

Does anyone else have a cool battle scar? Tell me your story!
