Happy New Year!...outtakes

Momma said we should have a special post wishing our furiends a happy new year. I was all on board with this...until Momma said it involved wearing something on my head!

"No no no, queens do NOT work in such conditions!!"

"Don't give me that 'queens wear tiaras'. This thing is NOT diamonds."

"Okay, well, it's kind of pretty, you're right..."

 "Mmm, tasty too!"

"I do not see why I had to get dragged into this."

Happy stupid new year, I guess.

SANTA!! And other Christmas stuffs

Oh dawg oh dawg, I finally understand why everyone was so excited about this Christmas stuff! SANTA CAME!!!!!!!!!! OMD OMD OMD, it was such a fun time!

Okay, so on Sunday morning, Momma packed up the Matildamobile, and we headed to Grandma and Grandpa's house! It's only my second time to ever go there, and I was eager and a little anxious.

 "They'll remember me, won't they?"

There was no need to worry, because Grandma said "Matilda!' and loved all over me as soon as we came in the door. PHEW! And the best part -- Aunt Gracie remembered me and was super duper excited to see me too.

"Aunt Gracie? Aunt Gracie? Aunt Gracie?"

Yeah, she was super excited to see me. A little later, Momma and the grandpawrents sat around the table playing cards. Gracie had her own seat up at the action, but I had to, uh, make due...

On Christmas Eve, Gracie and I bonded a bit when we had to open presents Uncle Adam sent.

"And I thought Uncle Adam loved me..."

Then at long last, the BIG DAY arrived! I tried to stay up to hear Santa coming, but dawg, I just passed out next to Momma after playing with Gracie all day. On Christmas morning, Momma wanted to pose for pictures, but I wasn't really feeling it.

"Momma, I see presents! Do they have my name on them?"

"Aunt Gracie, are we EVER going to get to presents?!"

It was so hard, but it was WORTH it! I got a fresh antler as the very furst gift before ANYONE. Then I was super busy chewing on it for ages and ages. I think Momma and Grandma and Grandpa got presents, but I wasn't paying much attention. (Momma said something like "just as planned," but I don't get it.) Then I got to open my own presents, and I gots cookies and a rope toy and cookies and a great big squishy bone toy from Grandma and did I mention COOKIES?! It was the best!!

 Post-gift coma

So from Momma and me (and Pigeon, who opened her stocking at home and said she was happy to get some peace and quiet), a very merry Christmas to all!

Happy howlidays to our pawesome shelters & vets!

Every year, LBR sends a special thanks out to all the amazing shelters that help so many dogs each year. We have a close relationship with many shelters in the Dallas/Ft.Worth area, so when they have boxers that need homes, they'll work with us to get them in foster care. So every year, LBR volunteers say THANK YOU to these shelters by bringing them gift baskets. In addition to treats and stuff from their wish lists for the animals in their care, we make sure to throw in some human treats so these PAWESOME shelter volunteers know how much we appreciate them! We also deliver baskets to the AMAZING vets who help LBR dogs. Here are just a few of the more than 70 baskets delivered this year.

Merry Christmas to everyone who helps LBR all year round!

PeeS: We heard from Uncle Adam yesterday that Cousin Bear passed to the Rainbow Bridge. He had been part of the family for a long time, over 14 years, and transformed from wild and crazy pup to venerable old man. He and Angel Casey knew each other for a long time. We're so sorry to hear he's gone, but we know he's running like kerazy up at the Bridge, as he never stopped wanting to even when his body told him he couldn't anymore.

Christmas mail!

Getting regular mail is exciting enough, but I think I like CHRISTMAS mail even more!! Not those card thingies (Momma keeps gloating about beating us this year! :( ), but the PRESENT kind!

So on Saturday, after a long and exhausting day I'll share pics of later, Momma came back from the mailbox and said, "Oooh, Matilda, it's a present for you!"

"For me?? It's from....oh yes, it's my furiends at Casa Hopps, where Aunt Shannon lives!"

"What the woof is this?!"

Well, when I opened Aunt Shannon's present, I met a very skeery looking Yeti. But Momma made me watch Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer and I found out he's actually a Bumble! And the thing about Bumbles? Bumbles bounce!!

I had SO much fun playing with him!! Thanks Aunt Shannon and all my furiends!
