A dog's work is never done!

Jessie and I aren't full-time working breeds like some of our furiends, but we still provide some impawtant services. For example, every morning, we guard Momma's bedroom while she gets ready and offer some advice.

"Um, are you sure about that outfit, Momma?"
"We have our reputations to think about, you know!"

"You do not wear open-toed shoes with pantyhose, Momma!"

"I think your silver earrings would look much better with that top."

"You'll do. Now hurry or you're going to be late!"
"And don't furget our treats before you leave."

It's a ruff job, but somebody's got to do it!

Stupid interfering neighbors!

Jessie here!

OMD, I had a secret adventure yesterday, but my stupid interfering neighbor cut it short! So last night, Momma was changing after work and opened the dog door for me like she always does. But I guess she furgot to check like usual, because when I sniffed around the corner, the GATE was open!! Oh BOY!!

I thought this would be the pawfect chance to pay a visit on my man Stanley so we could have a romantic walk on the beach. Oregon couldn't be too hard to find, right? But DAWG, I was just getting out of my front yard when my darned neighbor spotted me! I thought FAST and ran right back through the gate and my dog door. Momma thought I'd been there the WHOLE TIME, so I wouldn't get in trouble, and hopefully she wouldn't spot the open gate and I could make a break for it later.

But the darned neighbor ruined it AGAIN! She rang the doorbell and told Momma about seeing me run and the gate open, and darned Momma figured out what happened. HMPH!! Sorry, Stanley. I would've gotten away with it, if not for that meddling neighbor!!

Back to school!

Today is the furst day of school in our neck of the woods. That means we saw high schoolers walking to school through our neighborhood on our walk this morning, and Momma said lots and lots of HBO words as she was driving to work through school zones. BOL!

We don't have any furst day of school pictures, but we DO have some graduation pictures! This was my graduation from my Advanced class.

And here's Jessie for her Beginner class!

We were both valedictorian, of course! Have any of you been to school?

The BEST surprise!

OMD, guess what??? Yesterday Momma kept teasing me that she'd have a surprise for me that night. I wondered if maybe we were going to go for a car ride or if she had a yummy new treat for us to try, or maybe even some Blogville mail. BUT THEN the doorbell rang and guess who was on the other side??

OMD, you're here, you're here, you're here, you're here!!!!

Yup, it was MY BOY!!! He was supposed to visit last week but couldn't make it at the last minute. I moped and moped. But now here he is out of the blue!!

I let Jessie snuggle with him a bit too, but I had to remind her that he's MY boy.

It was so grreat to see My Boy again. He's the bestest friend a guy could ask for.

My Adoptiversary Adventure!

Since my adoptiversary was on a Monday, Momma and I didn't get to go out on an adventure to celebrate. So yesterday, I got my adventure! (Fun fact: we celebrate my adoptiversary because my barkday is in May when Momma is at her Renny-sauce faire every weekend and we can't do an adventure. Casey gets to celebrate his barkday because it's in October but his adoptiversary is in December when everything's busy!)

I was so excited when we got in the car. Momma wouldn't tell me where we were going!

"C'mon, Momma, just a little hint?"

Then we pulled up to PetCo! I was excited enough at that, but it turned out my LBR aunties were inside! I got to get lovings from everyone. One time when I was getting lots of lovings, I felt a little pinch on my shoulders and Momma said something about a "microchip," but whatever. Petting! After that, we went and picked out some treats from the cookie bar!

"Pawfect, I know those sandwich cookies are Casey's favorite."

THEN we got to go to a brand-new place for me. A pawesome bookstore called Half-Price Books lets doggies in, so we went and wandered for a while. Momma got a bunch of books, and I got loving from EVERYONE in the store. They were all super excited to see me!

"Hey Momma, stop stopping to look at all those BOOKS. There's someone up ahead who wants to pet me!"

And if that wasn't enough, on our way home we stopped at Sonic for TATER TOTS!! (Casey's favorite treat is cheeseyburgers, but they aren't good for my kidneys. So I get all the tater tots, and I loves them!)

I was so exhausted from all the fun, I slept the rest of the way home.

Thanks fur a grreat adventure, Momma!

Pawlympics Boxing

Welcome one and all the to Pawlympics BOXING event, hosted by your boxing experts, Casey and Jessie!! As boxers, Jessie and I are of course naturals at this whole boxing thing.

Casey boxing with Uncle Adam, purely for demonstrative purposes. We're not eligible for the medal!

So we had a few entries for traditional boxing. Furst up is Madi!

Mayorz Murphy and Stanley take their own turn in the ring.

Oreo is ready to knock his competitors out!

Finally, Walter and Millie in an epic battle!

Whew!! That was exciting, folks. Now let's take a moment to catch our breaths and prepare for our more artistic phase. Freestyle boxing, as demonstrated by my sissy here.

Pigeon is an honorary boxer, as you can see!

Now it's time for the pawticipants! Who will take the gold?? I was very impressed with the artistry of our competitors. Every single one of them put their own unique spin on things. Furst up, Arty! (Or should that be Sir Arthur, Master Thespian?)

Chimera has the boxer head-tilt purrfected too! Grreat job!

Our usually graceful and elegant City Manager Dory has brought our her silly side for today's event!

Here's Duffy in a peek-a-boo box.

Easy is putting his own unique touch on the event -- gnaw-boxing?

Sweet Esme is trying some peek-a-book boxing of her own!

And here is Frankie and Ernie, trying the very difficult pairs boxing!

Fudge is an expert at the "reach & dip" boxing.

Now Hailey is showing off her form at no-look boxing.

I think we can all appreciate Jakey's approach to boxing!

Lassie and Benji are trying the tag-team approach. I don't know if I could just patiently wait my turn like that!

Here's Levon with his hide-and-box-seek!

Mabel is an expert at toy boxing!

And Macy is trying the very difficult box-loaf manuever!

Madi performs the intricate box-leap!

Wow, I knew Margaret Thatcher would have an impressive move, but a stairstep box dismount?!? OMD, you're a pro fur sure, Mags.

Here's Malou, with the box stare.

Followed by Mitalee with a combo stare/peekaboo boxing. WOW, what form!

Here's Princess Leah in her submarine box.

Our Pawlice Commissioner is a bit of an overachiever, isn't he? Here's Sarge in his box stacking!

Sebastian is a real pro at this, performing the tricky Box Lounge technique.

Here's Stella Rose in her hat box!

Next up in Yin, pulling a pawfect Statue Box.

And finally, our last competitor is Zaphod, setting up for his box hurdling! Wow, what a pro. Not many would take that one on.

OMD, folks, what an event!! I think that ALL our competitors did so well that they each earn a gold medal in their unique event. Hurray for all!!!

Thanks to all who pawticipated! Now go enjoy the rest of the Pawlympics!
