Happy Howl-o-ween!

Hi, everyone!! I'm enjoying my very FURST Howl-o-ween!! Furst, you have to see my beeYOUtiful costume!

Pigeon says she's going as a spoiled cat this year. She has her costume nailed too!!

Next, it's time for our spooooooooky story for Blogville's Haunted Howloween. Ooooooooh!!!

It was a dark and stormy night. Thunder crashed across the sky, and I wasn't wearing a thundershirt! I tried to snuggle next to Momma to make her feel better, but she kept standing up and doing weird things like cleaning. It was like she was POSSESSED! And then....she said, "Don't worry, Matilda. How about a little treat to make you feel better?"

Well, that was sure to work, right? So I bravely got up, despite the thunder ALL AROUND ME, and ran to the treat jar. I sat perfectly, and Momma opened the jar, and....

THE TREAT JAR WAS EMPTY!!!!!!!!!!!

OMD, OMD, I just skeered myself!! It's just a story, Matilda, it's just a story! That could never happen!! Um....I think I'm going to go check on our treat jar JUST in case. Be sure to join the rest of the Blogville Haunted Howl-o-ween for more skeery stories.

"Pssty! Hey, goggie, you awake?"

"Goggie, wake up!"

"Wha---? I sleeping, Pigeon!"

"Today is National Cat Day! You're supposed to be paying attention to meeeee!"

"Don't be upset, sissy! I would never furget such an impawtant day."

"Momma furgot."
"She didn't?! Well, she's going to remedy that RIGHT NOW."

"The throne is acceptable. I demand tribute of tuna and feather toys."

Happy National Cat Day to all my kitcat furiends, but most especially to my big sister Pigeon, who is the bestest furiend and sister any pup could ask for!

Spooooky Flower Friday!

Since this Flower Friday is part of LLB Backyard's No Tricks, Just Treats for Shelters weekend, I thought we'd better make it an extra spoooooky one. So introducing our special guest stars!

Ichabod, Elvira, and Raven are showing off our beeYOUtiful flowers in the front yard. We got all of them from LBR's big Mums & Roses fundraiser!

Fossil is showing off his favorite mum. He loves the bright yellow to brighten up our dreary fall days, especially with all the RAIN we've been having!

Happy Flower Friday, everybody!!

Sleepover!

Oh boy oh boy, guys, guess what I got to do this weekend?? I had a sleepover with my foster momma!! It was so much fun! She kept exclaiming over how much I'd grown. Of course, I'm a BIG GIRL now! Here's a picture of me and my foster sissy Gala when I lived there, and then one of us now.

I'm taller than she is now! Ooooh, she did NOT like that. BOL!! But it was grreat to see her again. We played and played and played and played. Foster Momma said I don't have an "off" switch. BOL!

We had such a pawesome time. I'm glad my furever home is so close to my foster home so I can keep seeing Foster Momma. Momma said that Casey used to get visits from HIS foster momma all the way up until the day before the went to the Rainbow Bridge, almost ten years later. I love the idea of keeping relationships for that long. <3

Rain rain, GO AWAY!

We're pretty sick of all the rain here in Texas lately. It's rare to say that, because we're usually in a drought and are thrilled to get rain. But it's been almost nonstop for over a week, and I'm TIRED of it! Momma's mad because I keep pottying in the house, but I don't want to go out in all THAT. Ugh.

Pigeon found a cozy spot to curl up to next to Momma and hide from the rain.

Remembering Casey

Today would have been Casey's 11th birthday.

Momma still thinks about him a lot and gets leaky. I try to sneak up and lick her or nibble her arm so she laughs instead. It's hard work! But today we're remembering him with a smile instead of tears. And look at the amazing birthday present we got!

This paperweight was made by an LBR volunteer. Momma bid on it in an LBR auction, and then it was made specially for her. Do you want to know what makes it so special? See the white swirls in there? Those are Casey's ashes! Yup, this is a very very special memorial stone, and Momma has it on our bedside table now so he can be with us for always! Isn't that pretty pawesome?

Happy barkday, Casey! I wish I'd known you. I pawmise I'm taking good care of Momma for you while you're at the Bridge.

Edit: We were actually making this post for tomorrow, Casey's birthday. But Momma accidentally hit "publish" before setting the date, and it's too confusing trying to edit it. So it's just a day early. :P

Weird weather

Furiends, I'm not sure who broke the sky, but I do NOT approve. It keeps LEAKING, and Momma refuses to turn it off so I can potty in peace. SO rude. And it's not just leaking a little. Oh no, it comes down in great big torrents like God furgot to turn the faucet off upstairs. On Saturday, while Momma was off celebrating her barkday, we had some pretty skeery wind come howling through the leaks too, even going kind of twirly shaped. I didn't like that a bit. Luckily the twisty part didn't come near our house, but it did hit our town's brand-new high school across town and cause some damage. Yikes! And even after all that, no one's fixed things. This morning, it was still leaking AND now it's cold. Honestly.

I think I'm just going to curl up in some blankies until somebody sends the repairman in.

PeeS: Momma says THANK YOU for all the nice barkday wishes. She had a good time and said it was a grreat pawty, even though not a single person gave her a bone or a squeaky toy. Doesn't sound so grreat to me!

Happy barkday, Momma!

Today is a BIG day! It's my Momma's barkday!! She's turning a BIG number with a zero on it, so I'm having to give her LOTS of kisses and reassure her she's not old and falling apart. Well...I mean, she's falling apart a little, around the feet. But -- okay, let's not talk about that. Happy barkday, Momma!!

Flower Friday

So even though we have BRAND NEW FLOWERS, Momma furgot AGAIN to take my picture for Flower Friday. Honestly. I need a new secretary please.

In the meantime, here's a random flower picture from online that made us smile this morning instead.

We rocked the plant stand!

OMD, guys, I got SO much pawesome smell mail back from Mums and Roses on Saturday! LBR volunteers worked SO hard to put together a pawesome display and sell lots and lots and lots of flowers and pumpkins.

 The set-up crew!

I also got news about the event from another source -- Ichabod and Elvira! They woke up from their long nap in the garage to go out and guard LBR's pumpkin patch before guarding OUR house from Howl-o-ween hooligans. Don't they look grreat?

Ichabod

Elvira

Momma also came home with some beeYOUtiful plants. She's a little slow in planting them because of her silly foot, but she got the ones in our front yard done. Hopefully she'll get to the backyard soon.

She pulled out two boring green bushes and put the pink ones in instead. The mums are going to stay in their pots!

In all, LBR raised nearly $17k for the dogs in just one day!!! Way to go, LBR volunteers!!!

What the woof??

Momma, WHAT is this weird thingie you gots on? And why don't you want me to lick it?

So apparently Momma's tender. Or has tendons. Something like that. Anyway, her tenders are inflamed, so she's wearing this silly thing for the next few weeks. WEEKS?! What about our walks??? Hrmph. Silly humans.
