Rescue Strong!

Today is an extremely impawtant day for the good folks of Legacy Boxer Rescue. I've told you the story before of the people who are suing LBR and one of our adopters for a dog they claim is theirs, even after it went through the full shelter hold and several months of waiting before being adopted out. The ramifications of this case could have a horrible effect on shelters and rescues across the state, as shelters would be told basically they could euthanize dogs with no legal issues but could be sued if they adopt one out! Many fine supporters have been helping LBR through this process, including our top dog pro bono legal team. Today is the day!! The hearing is being held this morning in Fort Worth, and we are all crossing our paws and hoping for the best.

Boxer Strong! Legacy Strong! Rescue Strong!

Edit: OMD! And did you know that today is National Rescue Dog Day?? Surely that's a sign we'll win!!!

Pupdate: The hearing is finished. LBR supporters packed the house! The judge will issue a ruling within two weeks. Keep those paws crossed!!

Wear orange for Crockett!

Today we are wearing orange to remember our good furiend Crockett of the Lone Star Cats, who was lost in a tragic accident this week. I let Momma join in too!

Edit: ....Well, this was supposed to go out tomorrow, but Momma messed up the scheduling. Sigh. Good help is so hard to find! I guess we're just starting out early.

Flashback Friday

Tomorrow we wear orange for Crockett! I thought we'd flash back to Momma's favorite picture ever, with lots of orange.

I sure wish I'd known Angel Casey and Angel Cinderella. they look like lots of fun!

Remembering our furiend

We were so sad to hear about the tragic accident that took the life of our furiend Crockett of the Lone Star Cats this weekend. We are sending his momma and siblings lots of love and boxer kisses.

Complete at last!

Hey there, folks! Thanks for your well-wishes for my momma. She's FINALLY feeling better, but she really got knocked down hard for a while. I was super busy with my nursing duties. I'm glad to finally get back to blogging! And look what I have to share now that I'm back?

What's this? ...Yes, Momma, I'm sure everyone will ignore the weeding you haven't done.

We had a bit of a snafu when Momma went to order Pigeon's memorial stone. The Etsy shop where we ordered all four other stones no longer does custom engraving! Okay, fine, we can handle that... except apparently the color we used is not common. Other stores' stones are grayish or brownish, not reddish. So Momma finally found one shop that had some other stones close to the right color, emailed them a picture of our other four stones, and begged them to find something as close as possible. I think they did pretty good!

It comforts both of us to see all the stones together in our new memorial garden. Now if Momma will just get some of her weeding done, it'll be pawfect!

Nursing work is ruff!

Sorry we've been out of touch lately, but  I've been hard at work nursing Momma through the sickies. She has some kind of a virus that came with a vicious headache, so she hasn't been able to focus on much, and I've been guarding her through her naps.

She's starting to feel better, though. I'm glad, 'cause I'm getting WORN OUT!!
