Two posts in one day? Wow, how lucky are you! I wanted to add in another post because I forgot that it's Pedigree's BlogPaws "Write a Post, Help a Dog" time! For every post mentioning Pedigree's commitment to adoption and helping shelter dogs find loving homes, Pedigree will donate one 17-lb bag of dog food to a shelter! How cool is that?

Sad news
Dallas and her yet-to-be-named son
Sadly, Dallas's second pup, a little girl, was stillborn. We are all very sad about it. Dallas is doing well and is back with her son, taking excellent care of him.
I'm sorry you didn't get to spend time with us, little girl! You're part of the Legacy family anyway!
Pupdate: Dallas decided to name her son Austin, after a fellow city in Texas. Austin Boxer Rescue has helped LBR a whole bunch with saving dogs in our area, so she thought it was a fitting tribute! She has named her daughter Miss Ellie, after the matriarch of the Ewing family on the Dallas tv show. Godspeed, Miss Ellie!
Friday Dog of the Day: Winston
It's Friday, and that means it's time to talk to you about another one of the totally pawsome dogs available for adoption from Legacy Boxer Rescue! Today I'm going to talk to you about a super smart, handsome, and all around amazing guy named Winston!
Winston is a 7-year-old white boxer boy looking for the pawfect family to call his own. He had a family once before, but they decided they didn't want him and left him to fend for himself. Luckily he ended up with LBR! He's a very happy, go-with-the-flow kind of guy, so he settled in quickly and started looking for his furever home.
Remember how I said he's super-smart? Look at that sit-shake! Such form, such focus. I'm in awe. He also knows how to only potty outside, since he's a distinguished gentleman already, and he's great in his crate! He does well with kiddos -- his whole face lights up when he sees them -- but since he's a big guy who likes to romp, he'd do best without very little kids he might knock down. But he loves to play with toys and is a champion fetcher, so some older kiddos he could chase around the backyard would be just pawfect for him!
Winston is also great with other dogs! He's always lived with other dogs, both in his foster home and before, so he knows how to be part of a pack. He'd do okay as an only dog as long as you have time to spoil him lots, but he'd love a brother or sister to be silly with!
Winston is just the total package! I know he'll find a grreat home soon. If you think it should be with you, maybe you should check out his bio page on our website! You can learn all about him there, then fill out your application and bring a little Winston into your life.
"Hi there, folks! Winston's the name, pleased to make your acquaintance."

Puppy Update
Dallas's baby boy, isn't he gorgeous?! He's taking a little trip with his momma to the V-E-T to help his little brother or sister into the world. Dallas is still doing okay, but labor wasn't progressing at all so Auntie Sharon decided she needed to be checked out. The V-E-T gave her some medicine to help induce labor, and they're going to x-ray her to see how many pups are left. Please keep her in your thoughts!
Update: There's just one pup left! The V-E-T says Dallas isn't in any distress and the pup is fine, just comfy where he is! He gave her some medicine to help with labor. If the pup isn't born overnight, they'll have to do a C-section in the morning. PUSH, Dallas!
It's going to be so funny -- these pups are twins, but they'll have different birthdays! BOL!
Puppies are HERE!!!
Dallas is pushing! Keep checking back, I'll share more news as I have it!
10:43am : We have a puppy! A healthy baby boy. Yay, Dallas!
11:28am: We got our first picture! This is Dallas's first puppy, a boy. There should be at least one more, based on the X-Rays. Momma and I are pushing to name him "J.R.", but the foster home hasn't announced it yet.
Update 4:42pm: I'm sure glad I'm a BOY and can't go through labor. Wowzers! Miss Dallas is still doing fine. Apparently labor can last a long time, and the Puppy Watchers who've helped lots of LBR dogs through their deliveries aren't worried at all. Dallas isn't in any distress and has been nursing little J.R., though she's still in labor. If she looks like she's in any distress, she'll go to the V-E-T for some help. I'm keeping my paws crossed for her!

Getting ready for the Olympics!
The Blogville Olympics are coming up fast!! I'm hosting the KEEP AWAY! event on August 4th. You all know this game. I bet you play it with your peeps all the time! So now's the chance to show off your best moves! Why are you the best there ever was at Keep Away? Can you run really fast, jump really high, or are you just sneaky? Whatever your secret is, I want to see it! Send me pictures (no videos!) of you playing Keep Away with your humans, your siblings, your furiends -- anybody! Be creative, and have fun!
LBR foster Pink sez, "You'll never get me up here!"
And here's a message from the Blogville Olympics Committee:
THE OLYMPIC Committe MUST INSIST that All ATHLETES be ENTERED by Midnight July 18th. in order for the athlete to be SCREENED fur Bugs. The Peep Athletes have to be Screened fur DRUGS... butt WE of Blogville are above that! However, we gotta be sure that no Fleas get in... Complain to FRANKIE if you don't like the deadline.
PeeS: My good buddy Garth Riley is hosting a silly photo contest! Man, I am ALL over that one. I'm combing through my photos to see which one I want to enter. Obviously first place is all sewn up, but if the rest of you want to enter for second place, go for it!

Puppies! ...But not those, sorry!
Miss Dallas is still holding out on us, but look at these cuties! Someone surrendered six 6-month-old puppies to LBR today. There's three boys and three girls, and they're super adorable. Here they are on Auntie Sharon's lawn, getting their shots and being doled out to their foster homes. Welcome to the LBR family, puppies!

And no, no puppies yet!! Momma and I keep checking to see if there's any news from her foster home, but nothing yet. I think Dallas just really likes being the center of attention! :)

Friday Dog of the Day: Contessa
I'm really late with my post today, sorry! Momma forgot to set it for the automatic timer thingy. Siiiiiigh. Good help is so hard to find!
It's Friday, guys and gals, so that means it's time for another DOG OF THE DAY! Fridays are when I feature one of the totally pawsome dogs looking for their furever homes with Legacy Boxer Rescue. This week's dog is the lovely Contessa.
Contessa is a beeYOUtiful three-year-old boxer girl. Just look at those beautiful eyes of hers! Yup, that's a girl with a lot of love to give, all right. I can see it.
Contessa gets along grreat with other dogs. She likes to play and to snuggle. She can be a little shy at first, but once she opens up she's the best dog in the world! (After yours truly, natch.) She's house-broken and crate-trained too. How can you get any better than a sweet princess like this?
Contessa thinks that summer is fun, but it would be even MORE fun if she had a furever family of her very own to share it with. If you're after some summer lovin', she says she's all yours! Head on over to LBR's website and check out her bio page. Then fill out an application and bring home a Contessa of your very own!

Still waiting!
Her foster momma is just sure that Dallas is ready to have her puppies, but no sign of them yet! Her temperature has dropped and she's started nesting, wanting to stay in her little pool. So her foster home made her this luxury birthing suite -- the pen with the nice pool for the puppies opens into a cozy crate for Miss Dallas herself! She looks comfortable there -- hopefully the puppies will come soon!

Let the sun shine in!
Wow, it's another exciting day here at the Legacy Chronicles! Today is a multi-part post, so just bear with me. Furst, my furiend Garth Riley gave me the Sunshine Award, which is awarded for "spreading sunshine." I guess that means I'm doing a good job as Boxer Ambassador, so woohoo for awards!!
The Sunshine Award has three rules:
(1) Answer 7 questions below
(2) Pass the award on to 10 furends
(3) Let them know they received the award.
Momma and I are really busy getting ready for the Olympics and preparing for LBR's newest litter of puppies (coming any day now!), so we're going to just tag everyone! If you want to answer the questions, consider yourself awarded. :)
Now for my 7 questions!
1. Favorite number?
I think my favorite number would have to be 2. Because two is the number of me and my sissy, or me hanging out with Momma. That's the best number there is. Plus, treats always come in twos!
2. Favorite non-alcholic beverage?
You can't beat a nice cool drink of water on a hot day at the dog park.
3. Facebook or Twitter?
Blog! :D I don't use Facebook or Twitter, but Momma and LBR both have Facebooks.
4. Your Passion?
My number one passion is sharing the pawsome news about Legacy Boxer Rescue and all the work they do helping boxers! But after that, I think my passion would be napping. Zzzzzzzzzz.
5. Favorite Pattern?
Right now my favorite pattern is GIRAFFE because Momma got me a really nifty giraffe toy. I'm using it to practice for the de-stuffing event at the Blogville Olympics.
6. Favorite Day of the Week?
Definitely Saturday! Because when I give Momma the Look...
She decides we can stay in bed and snuggle for a little longer after all!
7. Favorite Flower?
No question about that -- the amazing Texas Bluebonnet! During the spring, the fields and roadsides in Texas just get covered in a beautiful blanket of blue and white, and everyone takes pictures of their kids (skin and fur!) posing in the pretty flowers.
That's it for the Sunshine questions! And now... did you know it's International Box Day??
I promised my kitty sister Pigeon that she could pawticipate today. She wants to be just like her big brother and be a boxer, BOL!
And finally, I just have one little piece of good news left. I've talked about my furiend LBR foster Jacobia on the blog before. Guess what?? He got adopted yesterday!! He just loves his new home, and they love him too. We couldn't be happier for him!
PeeS: I just heard that Dallas's temperature has dropped, which means she's about ready to have her pups! I'll update y'all as soon as I know anything!

Brace yourselves...
LBR's about to have PUPPIES!!
Since LBR is a rescue and supports spaying and neutering, we obviously don't get many litters. But sometimes a poor pregnant momma will find herself in a shelter needing help. And LBR springs into action!
This pretty little lady is Dallas. She was rescued a few days ago, but once she got home, her foster momma started thinking there was something a little strange. She thought maybe Dallas was in heat, but when she went to the v-e-t, he said, "Guess what?!" Yup, she's having puppies! The v-e-t saw two skulls on the x-ray, so it doesn't look like a big litter. We won't know if they're all boxer or not until they're a few weeks old. But they should be making their grand appearance sometime this week!
Everybody wish Miss Dallas good luck bringing her precious cargo into the world. I'll share news and pictures when I have them!
PeeS: We're trying to decide what the litter theme should be. Our pups are always given a litter theme associated with the mom's name. Like when Sushi had puppies, we called the litter "the Wasabis" and they were named Tuna Roll, Saki, and Maki. We were thinking maybe we could use Dallas suburbs for this one, or maybe Dallas sports teams (Stars and Cowboy?), or maybe names from the Dallas TV series (J.R. and Bobby?). Let me know if you have any good ideas!

Friday Dog of the Day: Tarmo
It's Friday, and that means it's time for another Dog of the Day! Fridays are when I pick one of the pawsome dog available for adoption from Legacy Boxer Rescue and tell you all the amazing things about them.
This week, we're going to say hi to Tarmo!
Isn't he just gorgeous? Look at that fur! The LBR volunteers call him "the Velveteen Boxer" because he has the softest, most touchable, most snuggly fur you've ever felt in your whole life. He's about 2-3 years old, so he has lots of energy and life left to give his furever home!
Oh my, he's so handsome. You know, he reminds me of a certain other LBR dog... named Casey... see that gorgeous light fawn fur with the little white spot on the chest, the black muzzle, and the soulful caramel eyes? Yup, you don't get any better-looking than that! ;)
And look, he does yoga too! Here he is practicing the classic frog-dog pose!
Tarmo has a LOT of energy and needs a family that will make sure he gets lots of exercise. He'd love a bunch of kids to run wild with, or maybe someone who wants a running buddy. He can be a little selective about the dogs he gets along with, but usually he's okay with a good introduction. Once he's gotten his energy out, he loves nothing better than to cozy up and snuggle with you. He loves to cuddle with his peeps watching TV, and if you'll let him, he'll guard your dreams all night long.
Tarmo really wants a furever home of his own. Could it be you? Go visit his bio page and read more about him!
