Remembering Casey

Today would have been Casey's 11th birthday.

Momma still thinks about him a lot and gets leaky. I try to sneak up and lick her or nibble her arm so she laughs instead. It's hard work! But today we're remembering him with a smile instead of tears. And look at the amazing birthday present we got!

This paperweight was made by an LBR volunteer. Momma bid on it in an LBR auction, and then it was made specially for her. Do you want to know what makes it so special? See the white swirls in there? Those are Casey's ashes! Yup, this is a very very special memorial stone, and Momma has it on our bedside table now so he can be with us for always! Isn't that pretty pawesome?

Happy barkday, Casey! I wish I'd known you. I pawmise I'm taking good care of Momma for you while you're at the Bridge.

Edit: We were actually making this post for tomorrow, Casey's birthday. But Momma accidentally hit "publish" before setting the date, and it's too confusing trying to edit it. So it's just a day early. :P
