Our new houseguest!

Things are very exciting at my house right now. We had a special new houseguest check in last night.

Meet Montana! She's an LBR foster dog, and her foster momma is going out of town for a week or so. So Momma said she could come hang out with us! We did a careful inspect of her when she first arrived, but she fit right in with the pack!

We had a grreat get-to-know-you walk together last night, then all three of us walked together this morning. She goes a little faster than Cinderella prefers with her old bones, and she hasn't learned that the bunnies around here are just Bugs and his family, not the ninja spies like most bunnies, so she still tries to chase them. But otherwise she's grreat on the leash and just looooves walkies.

She was a little unsure about everything last night, but when it was bedtime she trotted right into the bedroom with us. Momma didn't make her go in her kennel to sleep, but she went right in anyway and curled up all night. She said it's nice and cozy! She went in again this morning when Momma had to go for work, not a peep!

I think we're going to have a fun week. I'll share more pictures of Miss Montana as we get some better ones. She didn't want to hold still enough for the camera yet!

  1. Hi Montana! Nice to meet you! Looks like a sleepover pawty at your place.

  2. Casey, Cinderella and Mom
We are always so amazed to see how easily you K9s accepted a new pack member w/o a lot of huffing and puffing and BOLing.
K9s are most welcoming immediately of new guest...not so much with Fe-lines. At least with the resident fe-line here. I expect if the guest stayed long enough here (maybe a few weeks) I'd adjust but my first reaction is how my hissy side. I have to let them know just who's house it is.
    Hugs madi hissy bfff

    1. Miss Madi, K9s can be just as persnickety about welcoming someone new into the pack. It all depends on individual personalities. Cinderella and I have always gotten along very easily with other dogs, so Momma doesn't have any worries about dog-sitting. The kitties aren't always happy about it! Pigeon has been hanging out on the tops of the kitchen cabinets since Montana came over. But Scribbles slept in his usual spot in the bed last night and Montana didn't bother him a bit, so maybe Pigeon will realize she's not so bad!

  3. It's always exciting to have company over.

    Aroo to you,

  4. Awww ... she is cute!

Love Zoe, Peyton, Webster, Liberty & Whitney

  5. Welcome Montana. You are in a safe place now
    Lily & Edward

  6. Welcome to Blogville Montana. You are gonna be very much happy staying with our furends Cinderella and Casey.

  7. How fun to have a house guest! we do not get dog company hardly ever. Last year when Hazel's dad & brother came to visit, Mom was worried about Bailey, with two more males in the house. Butt they all got along famously and had a blast

  8. Wow, I'd say that Montana is gorgeous! She looks great in that purple collar and I bet you'll have fun together.
    Grr and Woof,
    Sarge, Pol Comm

  9. I love the photos, Miss Montana sounds like a really nice girl to have around, it is so nice that she fits in with your pack, even if she does try to chase the little bunnies and she had to slow down the pace for poor Cinderella but she seems to be having a blast with you already, it actually looks like she belongs with you, the photo of the three of you together is great, like you are all sharing some great story! I'm glad she slept well and bless her heart for going in her own bed, she must feel nice and safe there! Enjoy the fun that this week brings, more photos please!!!
Pees, to answer your question we do see Boxers on my hikes, there are two puppies, one dark drown one and one the same colour as Casey, they are great fun but too bouncy to take a photo of as they always run around me in circles, I'm a very relaxed Puggy, I love all dogs but my pace of life is slow and sweet, but I do get mistaken for a puppy boxer sometimes! Which is pretty cool! Love and Licks from your furiend Frank XxxxxxxxX

  10. How fun - a week-long slumber party!!! I hope all of you have fun!!!
    Yours sincerely,
    Margaret Thatcher

  11. Nice to meet you, Miss Montans - it sure sounds like you made a great first impression. Lightning says not to buy into that whole Bugs and family bit - he knows better:)

Woos - Phantom, Ciara, and Lightning

  12. I hope you have a great week together! She looks like she fits right in!
