This sweet old lady was rescued from the shelter in the nick of time a few weeks ago. Mom was the one to pull her, and she came to hang out with Cinderella and me for a few hours before going to her foster home. Well, we found out that she has cancer, likely pancreatic, and that means she doesn't have very long left with us. Mom cried when she found out, and even kisses from me didn't make her feel better.
Mercy is now what we call a Legacy Keeper, one of the dogs that can't be adopted due to health or behavioral problems but get to spend out their lives in love and dignity at an LBR foster home. Mom and I are sure glad that Mercy gets to be loved by her foster parents for whatever time she has left instead of dying in a cold, crowded shelter. We love you, Mercy!
