Krewe of Barkus

Heya pups! Mardi Gras is this week, and here in my hometown, that means one thing -- the Krewe of Barkus! The Krewe of Barkus is a dog-based Mardi Gras celebration the Sunday before Mardi Gras. Every year we have a costume theme and a parade around the downtown square. Can you guess our theme this year?

It was A Salute to Literature! I was dressed as Jamie from the Outlander series. Momma and I love watching that together, and she's read me some of the books. There were a whole bunch of folks pawticipating. Some of them really went all out.

The boxer here is dressed as the Cheshire Cat, complete with colored fur, and her family was all Wonderland themed.

It was so nice to spend some time with Momma one-on-one!

But by the end of the day, I was one tired Scotspup.

PeeS: Apparently everyone recognized the famous blogger in their midst. Momma's been hearing from her friends all day that I was on the NEWS this morning! They did a bit on the Krewe of Barkus, and apparently I was in it. Momma's looking for a clip. But it was on Fox4 News.

    1. Madi, it's not a beret! A Scottish cap is called a "tam." If I didn't wear it, people thought I was a Catholic school girl. Siiiiiiigh.

  17. Why of course I would love your duds anything Scottish and I am all a go! Definitely a good impersonation of Jamie. So your Mom lived in England when she was a wee pup I bet high school was a lot different than in the states.
Well at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry everything is different!
    Thanks for being a friend
