SWAK!

I know a lot of you remember my buddy Patches. He was a superhero who sadly passed away before he could show his foster family all the love they deserved.

Well, Patches made sure that his family knew the best way to honor him was to help another dog. So not long after he died, his foster family brought a new pup in need to their house, Roscoe. This morning, Roscoe made an announcement on his momma's Facebook page. It made me butt-wiggle so hard, I just HAD to share it with you guys!

"Hi. My name is Roscoe and I wanted to tell you my story so Mom let me use her Facebook Page. I met my foster family on December 3rd when Dad picked me up from the shelter. I was so scared. I was in fact scared enough that I was shedding and entire extra dog in fur every where. 

I got to their house and I knew I would be safe and loved. I was happy but I could tell that they were sad. I heard they lost Patches and still cried a little over him. I tried to make them happy by doing butt wiggles and boxer burns in the house. I even let them sleep with me at night.

They started acting happy again so I thought even though lots of other families would be happy to have me, I needed to adopt them. So I officially adopted them this week. I don't know what a "foster failure" is but it must be pretty good because they hugged and kissed me.

Special visitors

Last night my boy and his wife Auntie Jess came over to snuggle with me and fuss over me. (They said they came to watch a movie with Momma, but come on, we all know the truth.) It was a grreat night. My kitty brother Scribbles even decided to get in on the snuggles! (He never does that.)

I loves my boy. He looks like a human, but he's actually a dog. He wrestles with me and snuggles with me and is a grreat member of the pack.

Oh boy, I just can't wait until Blogville's big Queen of Hearts dance! My sissy Cinderella and I are going to be running the Kissing Booth! We've had a big response so far, so Cinderella and I did a little photoshoot this weekend to try to prepare.

 

I'm really not feeling it yet, Momma.

 I can't just turn on the charm like a light switch, you know.

Don't worry, Cinderella, we still have time to get ready!! The Queen of Hearts dance isn't until Valentine's Day. PHEW!

Two impawtant announcements!

Okay, furiends, I'm sorry for my silence for the past few days. Momma is getting less and less reliable. But today I have two very impawtant announcements. FURST!

Yes, I'm hosting the KISSING BOOTH for Mayoress Madi's Queen of Hearts dance on Valentine's Day. Here's how it works. You have three options. Furst, and I'm sure the most popular, there's me.

Pucker up! 

I'll have the furst seat at the kissing booth, and anyone who wants to join the mile-long line can come on over for a furst-rate smackeroo! But even though I'm gawjuss and irresistable, I know maybe some of the guys don't want a kiss from me. That's okay, 'cause I've got help!

"Hi, guys!!"

That's right, my sissy Cinderella has offered to lend a paw!! This is HUGE, folks. Cinderella's a very picky kisser. But for Madi's ball, she's pulling out all the stops. So if you're interested, she's ready.

But wait, there's more!

As a third option, we'll have an open spot on the booth. If any of you have a special someone of your own that you'd prefer to kiss instead of me or Cinderella, hop on up!!

SO, here's how it will work. I need pictures from you, ready to be kissed, no later than February 1st. You can send them to me at dreagoddess(at)gmail(dot)com. Please specify if you want to kiss me, Cinderella, or freestyle. (If you're choosing the third option, I have to have a picture of you AND the special someone you want to kiss!!) Then on Valentine's Day, come on over to see everyone at the kissing booth! It'll be lots of fun, so don't miss out!

Okay, but I said there were going to be TWO impawtant announcements. The second is much less fun. Furiends, I've heard of a dastardly plot today. Did you know that minions of evil managed to make today officially "Squirrel Appreciation Day"?!?!?

Let's do the Time Warp agaaaaaain!

Today is Time Warp Tuesday in Blogville! We're all sharing a time warp picture of ourselves (from any time in the past you choose!) plus a recent pic for contrast. So here's me!

Pucker up! BOL! That's one of Momma's favorite early pictures of me. It was taken when she'd only had me for a few months, in my very furst obedience class. (I was valedictorian at every level, of course.) And in case you furgot how handsome I am now, here's a recent one of me.

Momma said she wants to play too! This is her with my uncle when she was just a tiny little puppy. Look at those cheeks!

And here she is now, doing her favorite thing in the world -- cuddling US!

Momma's in the doghouse

Good help is SO hard to find. ALL Momma has to do is take my picture and type my blog. That's it! How hard is it, really? Well, with the holidays and pretending to be a roof, Momma slacked off big time. She just realized that she never posted my thank-you post to Lassie and Benji for their Blogville ambulance contest way back in December! Look, they sent me a really cool package.

Momma, open this thing a little faster instead of stopping to take pictures every step.

Wow, look at the ambulance! It's awfully small to serve all of Blogville, but it's really tricked out inside.

 And what's that poking out of the card? Lassie and Benji included a donation to buy some treats for boxers in need! Isn't that pawesome of them?!

Thank you, Lassie and Benji! I love my ambulance, and some lucky LBR doggies got some nommy treats. I'm sorry we're so late thanking you. Bite Momma if you want. (But not too hard, please. She still has to feed us.)

Serving up a pint of awesome

Look at these two handsome guys. The one on the left is about eight years old, and the one on the right is six. These two guys lived together their whole lives, and they loved each other and the kids in their house. Then one day their owner took them to the shelter and just left them there. They were sad and confused and didn't know what they did wrong.

Fortunately, LBR said that wasn't right at all. We found a foster home that could take them both in, because these guys love each other so much they need to stay together! Now their names are Ben & Jerry, and we think they're a pint of awesome.

Don't worry, guys, everything will be all right now. You're part of the Legacy family from now on.

Why I loves LBR, part 8700

Take a look at this pretty little lady. Her name is Zolly, and she's an LBR foster dog. The picture on the left is when she was found by the shelter. On the right is her living the life as a foster dog, a mere seven weeks later! Doesn't she look soooo pretty? I bet she'll be snapped up in no time once she's ready to go!

I hope everybody's staying warm out there! It's not quite as bad in Texas as for some of you up north, but it's pretty chilly to us. It warmed up enough yesterday afternoon that Momma bundled me up for a quick evening walk. It was just under 30 degrees, so we were fine!

Update: My heart is breaking to tell you that little Snowball has gone to join her brothers Blitzen and Frankincense at the Rainbow Bridge. She was just too weak to fight anymore. I know Momma Noel and her sisters Joy and Vixen will miss her very much. :~~~~~(

Update: Furiends, little Snowball is still fighting, but she can use all the help she can get! She isn't eating at all and is only drinking a little. Our dogtor is worried about her. Please send her some Power of the Paw so she can get through this and go home to Momma Noel and her sisters!

Family reunion

Take a look at this and TRY not to smile. Go ahead, try. I dare you!

That's Momma Noel, and she's overjoyed to have her puppies Joy and Vixen back home with her where they belong! They are still sick, but they're doing so well that they were able to leave the vet's office and will get the rest of the care they need at their foster home with Momma Noel by their side. YAY!!

We send lots of recovery thoughts to their sister Snowball, who's still at the vet's. She's taking IV fluids and doesn't want to eat much, but she's hanging in there still. We're very hopeful that she'll recover and join the rest of the family at home.

Happy birthday, Pigeon!

I'd like to wish a happy 12th birthday to my kitty sister, Pigeon!

It took her a while to get used to me, but we're buds now! She's a pretty cool cat.

Sadly, I also have to report that Puppy Frankincense joined his brother at the Bridge last night. :(  The good news is that we think the other pups are going to be okay. Joy and Vixen are doing really well and should be able to go home in a few days! Snowball is still on IV fluids, but she's responding to them very well. Please keep your paws crossed for them all!

Way to go, Momma!!

While Cinderella and I were recovering from our New Year's hangovers, Momma went out and kicked some serious behind at her very furst half-marathon! She ran the 13.1 miles in 2 hours, 21 minutes, and 5 seconds. Woohoo!!! I'm so proud of you, Momma!

She acts like it's a big deal, but I don't think it's ALL that. I still made her walk me last night and this morning. She only cried a little.
