Pigeon update

Thank you everyone for your hopes and purrs. The news from the vet isn't great. She says I'm in kidney failure, which I guess means I'm like Jessie? Momma says I don't have to do the camel treatments yet like she did, but we're changing my food -- I hope it's tasty! -- and some other things. But the bloodwork also showed some problems with my liver. Momma said at least I found a new organ -- she's already dealt with kidneys, heart, brain, stomach, intestines, and thyroid. The vet says it could be something simple like an infection or something skeerier like cancer. I'm going to go back in on Monday to have some more tests to see if they can find anything more out.

It's not great news, like I said. But not really unexpected when you reach your senior years like I have. I'll be 17 in January, after all. So Momma and I are snuggling and hoping that the news is as good as possible. The vet thinks I could have another 1-2 years with my kidneys, so really everything now depends on my liver. If you could keep those paws crossed just a little longer!!

This is NOT what I had in mind!

Pigeon here! So ever since the puppy came home, things have been a little kerazy in our house. She's always running everywhere and pouncing on stuff. Including me!! I come out sometimes, because hello, my house! But I spend a lot of time snoozing in one of my beds in my room, where she can't come. But I told Momma that I wanted to spend some special time together, just us. I thought she was listening to me when she came in yesterday, and I didn't even mind getting in my carrier if we were doing something together.

Where are we going? Somewhere super exciting, I'm sure!

But do you know where we went???? THE VET!! Where I got poked and prodded and had stuffs STOLEN right out from inside me. The indignity is too much to bear!

 The face of betrayal

Clearly Mommas are not clever enough to manage things on their own. I will have to be more specific in the future. In the meantime, the vet lady -- who wasn't TOO bad even if she stoles my blood and poop -- thinks I'm having some kidney problems. If you could cross your paws a little while we wait on test results, I'd appreciate it. I've lost a lot of weight, and I'm the same age as Scribbles when he went to the Rainbow Bridge, so Momma's a little concerned.

Oh well. At least we're together.

Worn out

I had such a pawesome weekend. Momma stayed home the whole time, and we just fetched and fetched and fetched and fetched some more! But, uh, I'm kinda glad she's at work today.

Throwback Thursday: Rescue Edition!

On this Throwback Thursday, I want to look back at a few very impawtant stories....

Casey

Cinderella

Jessie

 And Matilda!

We became a family...

Because of another family!

Legacy Boxer Rescue saved all our lives, and so many other Texas boxers! I'm so grateful that we all got our second chances and the bestest furever home that ever was, all because LBR stepped up to help us when we were in shelters or homes that couldn't give us the care we deserve. LBR needs more foster homes to keep helping amazing dogs like US! If you can, please check out more information about fostering for LBR. If you can't, share the information with folks in the Dallas/Ft.Worth area who might want to help! (And, you know, green papers always help give foster dogs food and vet care and stuff!)

Thank you, LBR! <3

What a weekend!

OMD, you guys! I don't know what Momma was up to this weekend, but it can't PAWSIBLY be as fun as sleepover camp at Auntie's!!!

Me and my Auntie. We're besties, yo.

Auntie has bunches of dogs, so I got to plaaaaaaay as much as I wanted to! You heard all about handsome Frankie already. He's the strong silent type. My favorite playmates are Benny, the tall dark & handsome goofball, and Simon, the spotted one who  will run and run and run with me!

For some reason, the two little dogs didn't like me so much. I mean, I tried my best to include them in playtime! I'd play chase and pounce every time I saw them! But I don't think Bebe was persuaded...

That's okay, because Auntie was still there for fetch and tug!

Then it was time for more chase!!

Auntie says I never stopped, but she's a fibber.

See?? I stopped at least TWICE in four and a half days! Isn't that enough??

Still, there was one person I really, really, really missed.

"Don't go 'way again, Momma, okay?"

Auntie's is pawesome, but there's no place like home!
