Yesterday was the big day -- Matilda was coming over to our house for the furst time to make sure I approved of her. (Who's the most impawtant one here? Of course I have to approve!) And, you know, to make sure she didn't try to eat me or anything. And the results are...
Our furst family portait! Matilda was a very sweet little goggie and didn't try to be mean to me at ALL. I appreciated that. She was there for almost ten minutes before she even noticed me, MOL!! I was just perched on the back of my red chair, watching as she ran all over the house sniffing things and stopping to jump up on Momma sometimes. Finally Momma sat down on the chair and called Matilda over so she'd see me. When she did, she sniffed at me politely for a moment, then jumped down and went back to exploring! That was pretty much our afternoon -- she'd wander around doing stuff, and every now and then, she'd come sniff me. If she took too long, I hissed at her a little, but she never tried to paw at me or get too hyper like certain OTHER goggies I've known.
She spent a lot of time chewing on a new antler Momma gave her. Plus she went right to dig in the toy box and picked out some fun things to play with. She especially liked this little tree stump with tree rats inside. It was one of Casey's favorites too!
She practiced zoomies in the yard.
And started getting to know her own Wilson!
She went UP the stairs exploring, but it took a little coaxing from Momma for her to figure out how to go DOWN them. MOL! Only the furst time, though. After that, she was up and down them with no problems.
Matilda was very polite even when I left my perch. I thought she might try to chase me then! But I walked on the couch to Momma, sat on the footstool, wandered down the hall to my room for a while, and then napped on the pillow in the bedroom, all without being bothered. Good goggie!
Eventually, Matilda kind of tuckered out. She realized Momma was good to sleep next to... and ON.
Yeah, I think Momma's been claimed!
