Friday Dog of the Day: Meet Brady!

It's finally Friday!! After a couple of short weeks for the holidays, having a whole FIVE DAY week to get through was so ruff! I'm looking forward to spending some fun time with my momma this weekend. But furst, we get to enjoy Friday, and that means it's time for a Dog of the Day! This is when I spotlight one of the totally pawesome foster dogs waiting for their furever homes at Legacy Boxer Rescue.

This week, let's say hello to BRADY!

"I just knows my furever home is out there somewhere."

Brady is a fun-loving pup about a year and a half old. Isn't he handsome? Momma said he reminds her a lot of ME when she first adopted me, so obviously he must be the best looking dog in the whole rescue. And he's smart! He loves to play and taught his humans how to throw his toys for him in no time. He's house-broken and crate-trained, though he has a little anxiety about the crate after being in the shelter. He'd much rather be with YOU anyway than in a crate!

"Why would I want to be in a boring crate when I could be snuggling with you?"

Brady is a total love bug and likes to snuggle with his people. He also has a grreat boxer tongue and wants to kiss all your cares away! He's good with kids and other dogs too! Mostly he just wants to play and be loved. Who wouldn't?

"Do you think Santa Paws can fit a furever home under the tree this year?"

If you'd like to help Brady find his furever home for the holidays, go check out his bio page. Then fill out an application and say you need a BRADY under your tree!

How can I be wordless...

When BABY AUSTIN HAS BEEN ADOPTED?!

He's found his furever family at last, and they LOVE HIM just as much as we do. I'm so, so, so happy for him... but I'm going to miss that little guy!! I hope his new family realizes that they promised REGULAR UPDATES when they signed that adoption contract.

Good luck with your happily ever after, Baby Austin!!

It's beginning to look a lot like Christmas!

Now that Thanksgiving has passed, it's officially the BEST season of the whole year. It's CHRISTMAS!! After we got back from my grandparents', Momma and I spent the rest of the weekend decorating our place for Christmas. I had a tough job snoopervising to make sure Momma did everything right.

Start fluffing out those branches, Momma!

Eventually, things started to take shape. We hung the stockings by the chimney with care.

From left to right, it's Momma's, mine, Cinderella's, Scribbles's and Pigeon's!

And we got the tree up! Momma even has most of the gifts under it already. She still has a few left to get, and she won't put any dog presents under the tree. I wonder why? BOL!

Then Momma wanted Cinderella and me to pose for our traditional picture under the tree. Well, that didn't go so well at first. Cinderella was grumpy because her brand-new Mrs. Claus outfit is, um, a little tight. They apparently don't make girly stuff for the linebacker-sized boxer gal!

But things went better when Momma let us change. Here we are, complete with kitty photobomb!

Finally, of course we had to start preparing our Christmas cards! We all posed for a grreat picture at Grandma's house, and Momma got the cards ordered and picked up yesterday. Now we just have to spend a few days addressing them and stuff. We're going to wait until next week to send them, since Thanksgiving was so early this year!

I'm all ready for that visit from Santa Paws... I can't believe I have to wait a whole MONTH!

Wordless Wednesday: Christmas Card Outtakes Edition

PeeS:

Momma and I were SO sad to hear this morning that our dear furiend Sammer of the Three Little Pugs blog was hit by a car last night and went to the Bridge. His momma and daddy are devastated, and poor Stella Rose is the last of the three little pugs. :( We're sending his family lots of love today to get them through this very difficult time. Please stop by their blog and give them some love.

Need help with yardwork?

It's autumn! The air is crisp and cool, Thanksgiving is just around the corner, and there are leaves falling ... and falling ... and falling! Baby Austin and Aspen are training hard to start their own yardwork business to raise money for LBR! How do you think they're doing?

I think they're doing a grreat job! Keep an eye out for flyers as these kids get their business off the ground. :)

A mixed bag

I want to say a sad farewell to my buddy Sky, who lost a hard battle this weekend. His whole pack misses him a lot, and so will we in Blogville.

On a happier note, congrrats to my best good furiend Mayzie for the wild success of her FUNraiser to help pets displaced by Hurrican Sandy!

Mayzie raised 1610 green papers!!! Grreat job, my furiend!

Guess what today is??

It's NATIONAL ADOPTION DAY!!!  That was started as a human holiday, but I don't see any reason why we can't celebrate adoptions of ALL kinds today. My momma is spending today up at the courthouse, helping little humans get adopted into their furever homes. She says it's the bestest work she gets to do all year. And I sure know my favorite part of volunteering for LBR is when news of adoptions start rolling in.

So to celebrate National Adoption Day, here are the LBR dogs who have been adopted this month.

Alicia

 Boomer

(He was my foster sissy Laila's brother, so we were real thrilled to see him find a home! And yes, they've decorated for Christmas already, and Boomer has his own stocking!)

Diggity

Fidget

Jacob

Koffee

Maddux

Moose

Noah

Welcome to furever, pups! I hope lots more puppies, kitties, and kids find their furever homes today!

We're all ears

I was looking through some of my pics of pawsome LBR dogs this morning, trying to think of a post, and I realized that we've got some really cool ears.

Here's LBR alum Gracie waving hello.

LBR foster Gummi Bear pulls off the difficult double-ear.

LBR alum Homer shows us all how it's done!

And LBR alum Lorsi pulls off an upside-down ear and a half. Bravo!

How about you? Do your ears do funny things sometimes?

PeeS: Don't furget my furiend Mayzie's fundraiser for the displaced pets from Hurricane Sandy!

Wordless Wednesday

 LBR foster Wally

Pees:
I have to break the Wordless Wednesday to add a very sad farewell to my furiend Samba. She was a good dog, a dedicated momma, and a water dog through and through. Please go here to read her momma's farewell. And while you're there, please leave her momma some good thoughts to get her through this ruff time.

Run free at the Bridge, Samba!

Brr, it's cold out there!

Sorry I've been out for a few days, everybody. I've been chilling at my Grandma and Grandpa's house while Momma was out of town. It's lots of fun there -- Grandma is totally pawsome at snuggles, and Grandpa takes us for, like, four walks a DAY! But I missed all you guys. I tried to teach her, but Grandma just doesn't understand blogging.

Anyways, Mother Nature finally remembered that it's fall and we're not supposed to be having 80 degree days in mid-November, even in Texas! So now we have highs in the 50s and 60s like we're supposed to. This morning it was only 28 degrees during our walk! Brrrrrrr. Cinderella and I broke out our snazzy jackets to keep us toasty warm. And LBR fosters Baby Austin and Aspen have decided to keep warm by snuggling with LBR alums Josi and Huey. That looks cozy, guys! Mind if I hop on in?

PeeS: My good furiend Mayzie is doing a pawsome fundraiser to help the pet victims of Hurricane Sandy. Please check out her post for more details -- they even have doggy AND kitty swag bags as prizes! Wow, Mayzie, what a grreat idea!

Jingle with Cinderella for Arthritis!

Hey folks! I usually talk about all the pawsome things that Legacy Boxer Rescue is up to. But today I have a different cause to talk about. To tell you all about it, I'm going to turn things over to my beeYOUtiful sissy, Miss Cinderella. Take it away, sis!!

Hi deres, everyone! Dis is Cinderella, and I have something very impawtant to talk about today. Casey said I could use the blog because it's something that affects all of us puppies and kitty cats. It's called arthritis. As I got older, I started having a hard time getting around because my hips and back were hurting all the time! That's no fun at all! Luckily, my dogtor diagnosed it as arthritis, and Momma is able to give me pills every day that help me feel better.

I'm very lucky that I was selected to be this year's Dog Hero for the Arthritis Foundation's Jingle Bell Run/Walk for Arthritis. Look, I'm on a poster and everything!!! I'm so excited to be able to help raise awareness and money for this pawsome cause. Arthritis can affect us puppies and humans of all ages, even little kids! Please check out the Jingle Bell Run's website for more information. And if anyone's local, please come see me for the event! I'll be there with bells on. BOL!!

Wow, sis, you're FAMOUS!! I hope the Jingle Bell Run is a HOOOGE success. How could it not be, with YOU to bring folks in?? And don't worry, everyone, even if you're not local, I promise you'll get to see Cinderella in all her jingly glory. I'll share lots of pictures afterward!

Finally, big CONGRRATS to our very own Madi the Diva on her landslide victory for Mayor. We're so proud of you!

Oh, and while I'm still here, I just want to say HI to the two handsomest Sibes in the whole world, Zim and Dave.

CINDERELLA! Stop flirting on MY blog!! Siiiiigh. See what I have to put up with?
