Another exhausting weekend

I just feel like we're go-go-go all the time these days! It was another exhausting weekend at Grandma and Grandpa's!

The amazing pawt is that after those two days, we had ANOTHER weekend back home! Kerazy. As some of you guessed from the fact that we don't have to have any more showings, our house already sold! Bunches of people wanted it, but I bet even MORE would've been fighting over it if Jessie and I had been there. Oh well. But that meant that Momma spent our second weekend wrapping her stuff up in paper and putting it into boxes. Our house looks so strange now! Usually after Thanksgiving, Momma hauls out the Christmas boxes and turns our house into a winter wonderland.  She said she won't be decorating at all until after we move, and we probably won't have the tree up at all. But it's not totally without Christmas cheer -- check out our stunt tree!

BOL. Happy howlidays everyone!

Having it ruff

Jessie and I have had a ruff couple of days. Momma had to go away to talk at some boring conference, so we went to Grandma and Grandpa's house. BUT Momma was only talking one day, and we were there for AGES! Momma said that we were staying the whole week because some lady called a reel-tour was going to be taking pictures of our house and showing it to people. Um, hello?? It's a well-known fact that boxers increase the re-sale value of any house! Ugh. So while they were stupid and banished us, Jessie and I were SUFFERING at Grandma's.

Finally, on Friday Momma came to join us, and all was right with the world! I didn't want to let go of her, because who know where she might have disappeared to next!

Finally, on Sunday we got to come home. What's that saying -- "There's no place like your own dog bed?"

Momma said that we don't have to do the showing things anymore, so I guess that's good. Now we just need to snoopervise her packing so she doesn't leave anything impawtant behind!

What a weekend

OMD, folks, you won't BELIEVE the indignities Jessie and I suffered this weekend. Just look!

Yup, we were stuck in our crates on a WEEKEND! And while there were strange people in the house!! Momma did NOT understand that this made it hard to do our JOBS. I kept barking to let her know "Hey, I'm supposed to be snoopervising! I'm supposed to be protecting you!" And she just kept telling me "It's fine, Casey. Settle down." FINE?!

Well, I mean, I guess it did work out okay. We had some paint touched up and a scratched door fixed, and look at the pretty new carpet in our bedroom!

And hey, there's a new peemail spot in our front yard!

Momma says this means our house is about to go for sale so we can move to our NEW house. Cross your paws that it goes well!

Warrior Spirit!

Look at what my pawesome LBR cousin Daffodil sent me!

She sent me a trio of warriors -- a knight, a gladiator, and Wonder Woman -- to help me in my fight against that nasty C-word. Thanks, Daffy! I feel so inspired already!

Weekend update

Hey everybody, I hope you had a grreat weekend! Ours was pretty nice. We went to visit Grandma and Grandpa, AND Grandma's sister and brother-in-law were there too! Momma said they're our great-aunt and great-uncle. They did seem pretty grreat!

 Jessie with Grandpa -- she's Grandpa's girl!

 Me communing with Great-Aunt Kathy

Then some other news... Momma said she found our new house! If you're thinking that was ker-azy fast, you're RIGHT! Momma said it must be meant to be. I haven't been there yet, but she said it has grreat sunpuddles, room for all our toys and doggie beds, AND she's going to make sure we get a dog door just like in our current house. PHEW!! Now just to make sure nothing gets left behind in the move and Santa Paws gets our forwarding address! We'll be moving in mid-December, just in time for Christmas.

Finally, thank you all for your kind words and POTP for me. We're still a little shook up, but we're feeling better after talking to some of my LBR Aunties. One of them has a dog with the same kind of tumor as me, and she's had it for FOUR YEARS! Apparently thyroid tumors don't spread as easily as other kinds, so with the medication I'm starting for it, we're hopeful that it'll stay confined to just the one spot. We're just going to take every day as it comes and enjoy the time we have together. Even Pigeon is snuggling with me now!

I hope you all have a grreat week!

Casey update

The Momma here. We got the test results back, and it is cancer. I talked to the vet, and we agreed that surgery or chemo are not real options here due to Casey's age and heart condition. It would be a question of the cure being worse than the disease. The only real option we have is to start him on a course of anti-inflammatories to try to slow the spread of the disease.

I think I've reached my point of a little too much for my mind to cope with right now. I think it's going to hit me harder later, but for now I'm very numb. I'm going to focus on making Casey's time left the very best possible, however much it is. But it is VERY hard handling him and Jessie both being steps away from Death's door at the same time. :\

PotP and explanations

Thanks to everyone who has already sent us love from the POTP post. Here's what's going on.

Yesterday I had my regular checkup with my heart doc. We do an EKG every few months to make sure my medication is working like it should. That turned out pawfect, yay! BUT when we were doing all that, the dogtor noticed a big hard lump on the front of my throat. It wasn't there at my last checkup in August, and Momma snuggles me a lot so she would've noticed it if it had been there long! The dogtor thinks it's most likely a thyroid tumor.

The t-word scares Momma a LOT, but we're trying to stay chill until we know what's going on. They took some samples to test to see (1) if it's really thyroid and (2) if it's malignant or benign. After that, we'll decide what to do. The choices are complicated because of my age and heart condition, so we might just leave it. Even if it's benign, it could grow big enough to block my throat and make it hard to eat or breathe, so we might need to remove it either way. It's just a waiting game right now.

Momma and I want to thank everyone for all their support. It's an especially complicated time for this, since we're in the middle of having to move and change vets and everything! But we'll get through it like we do everything else -- together.

OMD! Big changes!

OMD OMD OMD! Momma said we can finally share the super-secret stuff she's been working on that's made her so busy the past few weeks!! Wanna know what it is?? Well... Momma is getting a new job! She's super sad to leave where she is, but she said this is a grreat opportunity that will make her very happy in the long run. And the biggest thing about it is...

WE'RE MOVING!!

OMD. I've never moved in my entire life. Momma adopted me about two months after she moved into our current house. What if she furgets my bed? Or my toys? Or the TREAT JAR?!?! There's so much to worry about! Because Pigeon is an old hat at this -- she's moved three times with Momma! -- she has been appointed official Move Snoopervisor. And we are her able-bodied moving assistants! We're going to make sure that Momma gets everything ready and doesn't furget ANYTHING important.

The fun part is that we're moving about an hour away but still in the Dallas/Ft.Worth Metroplex, so we're not leaving all our furiends and will be even CLOSER to Auntie and all the cousins. That should be fun! As long as Momma doesn't furget stuff. Oh, and I hope our new house has a doggie door like this one. And good sunpuddles for napping. Any of my furiends who've moved, Jessie and I would appreciate your advice for how to make everything go smoothly!
