Truth in advertising

Recently Momma decided to take some pictures of me and Pigeon in some special Christmas bandanas. I was all up for that. But then I realized what horrible character assassination my bandana was!

"'I've been naughty'. Momma! SANTA reads these things!!"

I didn't understand why Pigeon didn't seem upset about this, but then I noticed she was being awfully sneaky about letting me read HERS.

"C'mon, Pidge, why won't you let me read yours?"
"No reason, goggie. Can't catch me!"

"Heh heh heh. So true!"

"If they're the same, I should be able to -- OMD! MOMMA! Did you KNOW ours were different?!"

"...Right. I see. I understand. That's just the way things stand around here."

"Don't be sad, Matilda! I think you're the nicest goggie around!"
"Then I'll just borrow THIS!"

"Ahhhhh. It's so nice to finally be appreciated!"

It's beginning to look WEIRD around here!

Hey folks, I hope everyone had a grreat time at Thanksgiving! It was nice to hang out with my grandpawrents and meet my aunt and uncle. I also met Aunt Gracie, my grandpawrents' dogs. She was FUN to play with -- every time I'd playbow or even just walk by her, she was barking and snapping and saying how much she wanted to play! Mean ol' Momma wouldn't let us play very much, but I could tell how much she liked me.

It was nice getting home to Pigeon and our own bed again, but then on Saturday Momma did something very WEIRD.

Trees are supposed to be OUTSIDE. I know that! But Momma not only brought one inside, she wrapped a blankie around its base and started putting STUFF all over it. She played a movie and sang along with it a lot while she was doing it, too. So weird. Then she did it to the fireplace too!

She told me that the one on the right is MINE! And that in a few weeks, some weirdo in a red coat is going to leave treats in it. She's fooling me, right? That's too silly to be true!!

This guy brought some presents too, but he didn't bring them inside. He doesn't seem to mind the cold. He must've brought his own fire to keep warm, because it glows at night!

After all that, Momma danced for me and sang the "here Matilda, no over here Matilda, look up look up, no stay!" song that's so much fun. I love dancing around with her when she sings that song! Eventually I was tired enough to sit for a second in front of that new indoor tree, and she stopped singing. I guess she's tired.

Pigeon tells me that this is something called "Christmas" and I'm going to like it a lot. I don't know, it seems awfully strange to me. But there IS one part I definitely liked!

Thanks Blogville!

Today we are pawticipating in the "Thanks Blogville" bloghop, where we're invited to share how much Blogville has meant to us.

It's a little hard to describe exactly what Blogville has meant to me, because it's been a part of me for nearly my entire life! It was only a few months ago that I was an adorable little puppy who found her furever momma.

I'm still adorable, but see how little I was then?! Awww. Anyways, I immediately heard all about the "Blogville" place where I had SO many aunts and uncles and cousins who wanted to learn all about me and loved me even though we'd never met. How pawesome is that? And the best part about it all? I got to really learn more about my great-brother and great-sister who came before me but I never knew. They were SO impawtant to Momma, and from you guys I got to learn more about them. Like how Casey and I loved the same toys.

Or how Jessie and I were both champion grass-rollers!

And I also got to learn all about how kitties and puppers are supposed to get along -- like sisters!

Blogville has taught me so much about my past and given me so much to look forward to! I got to dress up in my furst Howl-o-ween costume

And pose with flowers

And wear red for Aunt Madi!

I can't wait to get my furst Christmas card and laugh at how many more I have than Momma does! And go to a New Year's Eve pawty and kiss somepup at midnight. (What, Momma? I have to wait another year for that?!) And do ALL the pawesome events that I know are in store, and just generally see all of my wonderful aunts and uncles and cousins living their fun lives!! Blogville has broadened my little puppy world way beyond just my house and walkies around our neighborhood. And that's pretty darned exciting!

So....

Sister Saturday

My sissy and I love each other. We're always playing or snuggling. Sometimes I still furget and get a little too enthusiastic, but for the most part we've worked out the kinks and really play together well!

She GETS me!

It's wonderful when someone really GETS your personality, right? My dog sitter is like that. She really understands who I am. And to prove it, she gave this totally PAWESOME portrait to Momma today.

I try SO hard to be good, but....well, I'm working from a handicap. BOL!!

Stitch & ME!

I'm a little late on posting it, but this weekend Momma had something called a "Stitch & Me." Well, you know, she used the other word for a female dog, but I knew who she was referring to. BOL! She and her furiends sat around, working on sewing or knitting or crocheting and talked a whole bunch. And, of course, paid their due tribute to the honorary of the day.

Auntie had me model as a unicorn. It's actually a stuffed carrot, but she thought it was funny putting it on my nose like a snowman. I showed her!!

Pigeon seemed to enjoy the day too, but I don't think she was having nearly as much fun.

Friends make the weekends so much better!

Tooth Out Tuesday

Momma says I got the title wrong, but I don't stick my tongue out much so I thought this would work better!

Nature Friday

Would you believe it?? Momma finally gets around to taking some Flower Friday pictures, and Flower Fridays are done!!! Well, Rosy's still hosting "Nature Fridays" over the winter, so we'll go under that.

Presenting...our most beeYOUtiful nature-y flowers...our new Memorial Garden.

This has been a slow work-in-progress because Momma still has that annoying boot on her foot PLUS we've had super-duper wet weather that made digging, uh, challenging. Furst we planted the rosebushes that we bought at LBR's Mums & Roses sale, then added rosemary in the back for remembrance. (It'll get a LOT bigger.) Then I closely snoopervised the placement of our angel memorial stones and St. Francis of Assisi to watch over them.

 "Looking pretty good, Momma!"

Well-weathered stones for Cinderella and Scribbles that were out at our old house, plus the new ones for Casey and Jessie that hadn't come out yet.

So there you have it! Momma wants to put a stone border around it eventually, but we're going to call it done for now! I'm happy to have a place to go honor my great-brothers and great-sisters that came before me. I may not have known them, but I know the pieces they left in Momma's heart!

Torture!

Can you believes that after I've been SUCH a good girl, Momma dragged me off yesterday to be tortured?!?!

She got this kerazy idea that just because I might pee in the house a million times a day, that might mean I have a bladder infection. So she dragged me off to the dogtor, where they poked and prodded me and stole my pee! The nerve!! The verdict? I don't have a bladder infection, but I DO seem to have some allergies and an ear infection. Okay, cool, we're done, right?

NO! After we got home and I thought everything was FINE, Momma pinned me on the couch and poured medicine burning acid into my ears!! And she did it AGAIN this morning!! Can you believes her?? Someone send help. I can't handle much more of this.

Almost Wordless Wednesday

Here's the not-wordless part: We're lighting some candles to celebrate Diwali with YAM Aunty!

Diwali is a time for inner illumination and  a time to reflect on what has gone before. It's a pawticularly appropriate day for that after our elections here in the US -- we have a lot to think about and ponder what we've done right and how we can do better in the future.

Let it go!

Look, Pigeon, I know it was lots of fun.

"It WAS! The kids will come by again tonight, right?"

Momma says it's just once a year, and now that it's November we have to put the Howl-o-ween decorations away.

"But...why? I like the decorations. They're pretty. And comfy."

I don't know, it's one of those weird human rules! But we have to put the treat bowls away, Pigeon.

"Nope. Viva la Howl-o-ween!"
