Good thoughts please!

I'm totally fine, but you know how Mommas worry sometimes. I've been losing some weight lately, so Momma is taking me to see the dogtor today. I told her it's just me honing down to the essential essence of Casey in my old age, but she wants the dogtor to verify that. Whatevs! Please send some good thoughts Momma's way so she stops WORRYING.

Pupdate: Sorry, Momma needs to make a new post, but she's busy running half-marathons again. Kerazy woman!! The dogtor thinks it might just be aging and being more active with a kid sister around. But she drew some blood to test, and if that doesn't show anything we'll do some x-rays just to make sure there's no masses or blockages. Thanks for the POTP!

Happy Boxer Day!

Happy Boxer Day everyone! Some people mispronounce it as BoxING Day, but everyone smart knows it's a day to honor us pawesome dogs. :) It's usually the day after Christmas, but apparently when that's a weekend they move it to Monday. So to all my boxer and honorary boxer furiends out there, enjoy the day!!!

Jessie and I had a pawesome Christmas! You know it was her very furst one with our family, so it was extra special! As usual, Momma broke out some really grreat smelly chews as the very furst present. Oh boy oh boy!! We got so busy with those, I have to admit I didn't really see what the humans were doing. Weird how that happens every year. Huh.

Our main present was the dog door, but we got some chews and toys too. Jessie really loved the stuffed moose!

Momma wanted a picture of us in our Christmas outfits next, but Jessie kept trying to eat her dress. BOL!!

But eventually we gave her what she wanted, of course.

The rest of the day passed in a chewie-induced coma. BOL! What a grreat day!!

We're okay!

If you heard about the skeery storms in Texas, I just wanted to let you know that we're okay. We're still at Grandma's house, which got some thunderstorms but nothing else. The tornadoes didn't hit near our house, so it should be okay. We'll go home this afternoon and be able to see for sure. We've heard from all our LBR volunteers in the affected areas, and they're all okay too!

Busy little elves!

Every year, LBR volunteers (with help from some fosters and alums, of course!) visit the local shelters and vets who work with us during the year. Did you know that shelters don't have to work with rescues at all? Some of them don't want to bother contacting rescues and having them come out to evaluate animals. But LBR has built really good relationships with our local shelters over the years, so they know when a BOXER comes in, we can HELP! And our vets are totally pawesome to offer services to us at a rescue discount so we can afford to help even more dogs! A thank-you at Christmas just doesn't seem like enough, but it's a good start!

Thanks to all the LBR elves who put together and deliver the goodie baskets, and THANK YOU to all the wonderful shelters and vets who work with us to help LBR save dogs!!

PeeS: Momma says she's throwing in the white flag or waving the towel or something. Remember how we've been getting cards for the people who moved out of our house SEVEN years ago? Yesterday they got another one . . . and their DOG got one!! BOL!!

Think we should be nervous?

Pets: 30
Human: 6 (there's one not in the holder yet)

She's starting to catch up! Maybe if it was another month until Christmas, she'd do okay! BOL!

Family movie night

Last night, we started our Star Wars marathon in preparation for the new movie coming out. We watched Episode I: The Phantom Menace. The entire family was completely enraptured!

Momma was super-duper happy to catch a picture of ALL of us snuggling together! Usually she doesn't have her camera ready or Pigeon lays on her arm. BOL.

Card Massacre:

Pups & Pigeon: 26
Momma: 3

We'd like to note a very special card we got yesterday. All the way up at the top right, in a place of honor, is our card from Stuart. He just passed away this weekend, if you hadn't heard, and it was extra-special to get a card from him now.

What a grreat weekend for LBR!

Happy Monday, folks! This was sure a grreat weekend for LBR. Furst off, thanks to everyone who commented on my Gotcha Day post yesterday! We had 23 comments, so Momma's rounding up and donating $25 to LBR. Woohoo!!

I worked hard on Saturday to get donations too!

Momma and I, plus a few other LBR volunteers, went to our local Barnes & Noble store to wrap present and collect donations. Of course, yours truly was the big draw!

It was exhausting work, but we raised $156.65 for LBR!!

It's grreat to be able to help pups in need this howliday season!

Seven years into my FUREVER!

Seven years ago today, I got the BEST Christmas present there could ever be. I came to what had just been a house, and it turned into my furever home!! A lady named Andrea signed some paperwork, and she became my Momma. I was hers, and she was mine, and we knew we'd be together furever.

Furst picture with Momma after she became Momma!!

From then on, well...

Momma and I are the BESTEST furiends there could ever be, and I hope our furever just keeps going and going and going and going!

My biggest wish is that every dog out there gets a furever home and Momma just like I have. All the wonderful volunteers at LBR work hard to do just that, and I want to help. So today we're having a comment-a-thon! For every comment we get today, Momma's going to donate $1 to LBR. So comment away!!

The greatest meeting EVER

Guess what happened on this day back in 2008?

Yup, I met my Momma for the very FURST TIME!!! We had our meet & greet on Thursday night, then I came HOME on Saturday! I was so VERY happy to have found her at last.

We'll be celebrating my Gotcha Day on Sunday with a comment-a-thon! For every comment, Momma will donate $1 to LBR in my honor! Come back on Sunday and comment!
