My sissy had such an exciting day yesterday! Do you know what she did? Well, here's her all ready to go...
Doesn't she look all festive? Well, yesterday was the Jingle Bell Run/Walk for Arthritis in Fort Worth. That's a fun run that raises money to benefit the Arthritis Foundation. And guess what?? Cinderella was their 2014 Hero Dog, representing the approximately 20% of dogs out there who suffer from arthritis!
She did such a grreat job at the event too! Momma was super duper proud of her. Lots of people recognized her from her picture on the website and came up to them asking, "Is this Cinderella?" She's not used to being the famous one like me, so she was so surprised and happy at all the attention. There were a lot of people in fun holiday costumes, and Cinderella even got to judge the doggy costume contest! Look at some of the cool folks she met.
And guess WHAT, you guys??? She even got to meet THE BIG GUY!! And Mrs. Claus too! She was so excited she could hardly sit still. She told him that she was sorry we'd missed Santa's List Day this week, but he told her that was okay, she could just tell him her list right there. So she said, "Santa, what I really want most of all is for all my LBR cousins still in foster care to find their furever homes, and all the other homeless doggies and kittehs out there too! I've been SO good this year. And if there's a little extra room in the sleigh, I'd like some cookies that aren't too hard to chew and a nice fluffy stuffie."
Santa said that he knew Cinderella was good enough to earn ALL that and MORE, so he'd see what he could do. She was super happy with that.
PeeS:
Sadly, little Grace from our Thanksgiving Puppies went to keep her brother Squanto company at the Bridge yesterday. Squanto and Grace were the two who wouldn't nurse from the beginning. It's not unusual for big litters like this to lose one or two. But all the other pups seem healthy! Godspeed, little Grace.
Well done Cinderella and I bet Santa will remember you when he puts the treats in the stockings! It's sad that Grace and Squanto had to go to this bridge... and I cross my paws for their siblings and I hope they will have a wonderful first christmas.

What a great day for Cinderella. We'd love to meet Santa but he hasn't been around here yet.
ReplyDeleteWe understand about tiny puppies who just don't have the strength to stay. One of our little Portie pups wouldn't nurse either and he only stayed with us for a day. Mom still misses him.
Cinderella, what a great day!!!
ReplyDeleteRun free little baby Grace.
