No Tricks, Just Treats for Shelters!

Today we are joining Dory and her brothers in the "No Tricks, Just Treats for Shelters" blog hop. Momma has a day jam-packed with ways to help. Furst she's going to take us for a nice long walk. Then she's going to go to the grocery store. And then she's going to snuggle on the couch with us and do a little online Christmas shopping.

...Wait a second, Casey. We're supposed to be telling people how we're helping our favorite shelter or rescue group today!

Don't be silly, Jessie. That's what we're doing! Furst, when we're going for our walk, Momma always uses the WoofTrax app from Walk for a Dog. That's a really pawesome app that tracks how far we walk and makes a donation to the rescue group we selected based on our mileage.

WOW, Casey! That's exciting! Oh wait, I know what the next one is. When Momma goes grocery shopping, she's going to go to Kroger and use her Rewards card there. You can link your rewards card to a specific charity at their website, and ours is linked to LBR. They get a check every quarter based on how much people have spent on their cards.

Finally, when Momma does her Christmas shopping online, she goes through Amazon Smile. She shops just like at regular Amazon, but she logs on at smile.amazon.cominstead. You can designate a charity to get donations based on a percentage of your purchases. With as much as Momma spends at Amazon, LBR gets a nice donation from them!

So those are our easy ways to support our favorite shelter or rescue, doing things we do all the time anyway! Our favorite rescue is, of course, Legacy Boxer Rescue. Jessie and I were both adopted from them, and we do lots of volunteer work for them. Whatever charity you support, you can use these easy ways to help get them more green papers from your ordinary activities.
