Love is...Fostering

Continuing my series of posts about what LOVE means to me... Today is a very special one. Love is FOSTERING!

Fostering saved my life, turning me from a skeered and sick pup to a happy, healthy dog looking for my furever home! These are my foster pawrents, Uncle Kurt and Aunt Joni. I love them so so SO much, and I can never thank them enough for all they did for me!

But I can at least pay it forward! That's what Momma and I did by starting to foster ourselves. Our furst foster might be a familiar face to you....

Yup, Cinderella!! She was our furst foster, and we later on ended up "foster failing" with her and making her ours. But we had some other fosters too.

Then there was Tiana, or Tia! She was a super sweet girl, only a year old. She was SO sweet and smart and beeYOUtiful that she got adopted real quick! We hear back from her family sometimes still, and she's very happy with a whole bunch of fur brothers!

Pumba was our BIG boy -- a good 85 pounds! He and I didn't get along very well, but we were very happy when he got adopted by a grreat lady and had two skin brothers to play with. Sadly, he passed away a few years later.

Briar Rose, or Rosie, was our "butterball princess," BOL! She was very overweight when Momma furst brought her home, but she was kerazy active all the time. She had the LONGEST tongue, too! She got a family with a momma that goes jogging with her and a bunch of skin kids to play with. I bet she keeps the weight off now!

Laila was a dignified old lady who came to LBR with her brother, who was an LBR alum, when her pawrents got divorced. She found a home with a wonderful lady who has little grandpeeps who visit and LOVE Laila.

Sweet Vivian! Oh, she was the one who got away. We loved her SO much and wanted to keep her, except you can't have two boxer females together. We even tried disguising her as a boy to keep her, BOL! But eventually we found her a home with a daddy to spoil her.

Does anyone recognize our most recent foster? BOL, yes, it's JESSIE! Momma and I were ready to start fostering again a few months after Cinderella passed, so we picked out a dog and figured we'd foster until we lost our hearts to someone. We didn't think it would be our very furst one, though!

Jessie is our most recent foster, but NOT our last! We'll foster again someday, because it's impawtant to give other doggies a chance to find their furever homes. And nothing shows love better than helping others find love!

  11. I would love to foster, but the Man is not into it. He is probably right, I would be a foster failure. Perhaps it is the path I will take in the future when we are dog less again.
