Furst day of school!

Jessie here to tell you all about my exciting FURST day of school this weekend!! I was really nervous, and the whole drive there, I kept trying to remember all the advice Casey gave me.

"Don't bark first, sniff politely and then back away. Um... listen to -- uh... somebody..."

It was nerve-wracking!! But finally we were there, and Momma made me pose for a "first day of school" picture.

We went inside to someplace called "Petsmart", but I call it HEAVEN!! OMD, folks, there were SO many smells and goodies all over the place! There were treats and chewies and toys, and oh my goodness!!! I loved just walking around sniffing it all, and I loved hearing Momma saying "Good girl, Jessie" over and over.

"Welcome to class! I'm Jessie. Will you be my furiend??"

Then we went into our class area, where you can still hear and smell people all around but they're blocked out. That makes it hard to concentrate, but I'm a GOOD girl. My classmates started coming in too. There are three other dogs. A very sweet lab mix named Daphne -- she's in the pictures. She's pretty shy, but I greeted her like a very good girl. Then a gorgeous bully named Diesel who is VERY hyper and talks a lot! And finally a little terrier named Mia who hid behind her pawrents' legs a lot and growled any time you looked at her.

"Okay, we'll chat later. Nice to meet you!"

There were SO many hard things to learn. My teacher Miss Audrey was so impressed with how well I know SIT. I showed off for her a lot. There was another thing called WATCH ME where I was supposed to look at Momma and NOT at all the interesting things going on around me. Hoo boy, that was ruff!! But I got it down pretty well. Momma was impressed. She didn't think I'd be able to focus as well with the other dogs around. HMPH!! Then the last thing we worked on was TOUCH, where I was supposed to touch Momma's hand with my nose. That one I didn't care for that much. Oh sure, I could DO it. I just didn't really see the reason to most of the time. Whatevs.

Momma was SO happy with how well I did, she kept kissing me and hugging me and telling me what a GOOD GIRL I was the rest of the day. Woohoo!! I like school. I hope the rest of it goes as well!

Oh, and if that wasn't enough, did you hear that STANLEY asked me out again?!?!? I get to be his New Year's date for the Blogville Holiday Hijinks!! We're going to have such a good time! Be sure you get to pawticipate and send in your pictures soon.

    1. I get a chicken treat I love, but by the time we were learning TOUCH I was just done. BOL. For WATCH ME, Momma would hold up a treat to get my attention and then bring it to her face while pointing at her eye and saying the words. After a few times of that, she'd start pointing and saying the words without a treat in her hand and giving me the treat with her other hand.
