Yesterday was my big race with Momma. She goes and does lots of races without me, but this time I got to go!! I was soooo excited. I started training so I'd be super strong and fast.
Soon it was race day, and Momma and I were ready to go! The theme of the race was "Peace Love & Run," so we had our tie-dye on.
My furiend, LBR foster Linus, brought his momma to the race too. I heard Momma tell Linus's Momma that we'd probably walk with them for most of the race. What?! No way, I trained too hard for this!!
As soon as they said "ready set go!", I was out of there! I went charging along, and Momma was working hard to keep up with me. I did grreat. Momma kept saying how proud she was of me. We did have to stop a few times to walk, but we ran like 87 miles of it!
We ended up finishing the 5k (3.1 miles) in 39:09. We were fifth place out of ALL the doggies there!! We would've been in third, but we stopped for water breaks. The dogs in front of me weren't short-nosed pups, and Momma was keeping an extra-close eye on me.
We hung out and chatted with folks at the finish line, and Momma shared her banana with me. Yay! I thought that was the best part of races, but Momma said there was something even better. And OMD, she was RIGHT!!
Post-race cheeseburgers!! Yeah, baby, running is TOTALLY my thing.
Lemme get this right...you got to go someplace where there were lots of other foggies, you got to run with your mamma, you got lots to drink, and THEN you got cheeseburgers?? OMD what a perfect day!!

Forget the race, look at all the good treats. Good job and congrats to both of you

Wow, you guys did great! And burgers, too????
ReplyDeleteHow come your mom doesn't take you running with her? We run with our pawrents every Friday. The other days we allow them to go without us but on Friday we all stay together. Mom says a hands free leash makes a lot of difference!

Murphy & Stanley
Momma says she'd take me running if she was just going a couple of miles, but she runs really long distances and doesn't think I'm up for those. So instead she uses our walks as her warm-up or cool-down from her runs!
DeleteCasey you look so happy in your race gear. Congratulations on the race and the burger.
ReplyDeleteSooo proud of you and your mom. Looks like y'all had a blast and I loved your photos.
ReplyDeleteAroo to you,
