Happy Monday everyone! I hope you had a fun weekend like I did, and you're all ready to face the week! I'll start off today with some good news. I've told you before about my buddy Atom Ant, who faced some very scary surgery before finally getting his all-clear and then ending up in a wonderful furever home with his mom and new sissy, Brea. Sadly, Brea passed away a few months ago (at a ripe old age). But now Atom and his mom are happy again, because they have a new furbaby at home. And it's an LBR dog! LBR foster Handy is now Atom's pawesome brother Andy. And Andy's going to train to be a therapy dog just like Atom so they can keep visiting people and bringing joy to everyone, just like Atom and Brea did. Yay for Atom 'n Andy!

Next, I'd like to wish a very very HAPPY BIRTHDAY to my furiend Maggie Mae. She turns three years old today! Go wish her a happy birthday on me. :)

Finally... well... I'm a little shy about this, but... well, I asked a girl out! The brindle beauty Mayzie was looking for a date for the Blogville Valentine's Day pawty, and she's holding a contest to pick her date. I sure hope it's me!!!

Okay, folks, I've got a little bone to pick with you. I am a responsible blogger, as well as a seasoned diplomat in my role as Boxer Ambassador. As such, I try to occasionally include public service announcements when I become aware of a serious menace. Just a few months ago, I posted a PSA warning of the perils of baby-eating boxers. Unfortunately, you folks out there seem to be ignoring my serious warnings and still exposing innocent children to these vicious animals. Really, it's just got to stop!

Why, look at this example! You have a poor, innocent little human who is clearly terrified at this hulking menace.

If that's not bad enough, sometimes they get even bolder! Some of them will start tasting the baby while they sleep. The horror!

Honestly, it's like no one listens to me at all! You have these vicious dogs pinning down defenseless little humans while they struggle to escape.

Some of these brutes can't even stay away from children while they sleep.

Some of them will use cunning disguises to get in position to strike. Pretend to be a sofa cushion and you can get anywhere, really.

Sometimes the vicious monsters will drag their prey back to their bed to enjoy a bedtime snack.

Sadly, it's a problem no matter how young the dog. Even little puppies can stalk their prey.

Wow, look at how she's just drooling at the idea of tasting a fresh young human!

Once the evil boxer gets a taste of human, there's just no turning back. If only this poor little human hadn't fallen prey to the propaganda that boxers are super kid-friendly dogs!

I've done my part to make you all aware of this great menace. I'm just horrified that my own kind have turned into such vicious baby-eaters, but there's just no denying photographic evidence. Please protect your little humans while you have the chance!

You know, I've always known how lucky I was to get such a pawesome LBR foster home. I had great foster parents, and a fun foster brother and sister, and there were cool things like treats and air conditioning! But I didn't realize that I was SO lucky that my foster home was missing something apparently running rampant in other foster homes...

Sorry I haven't been posting much lately, but I've been charged with a Most Important Job. My mom did a silly human thing and hurt her back this weekend. She's not supposed to move much, but she's a stubborn human. So I've had the difficult and important job of holding her down on the couch.

It's a tough job, but I persevere. I let her up long enough today to finally go to the human vet, and she says she got some magic pills to make her all better and won't have to lie down for much longer. So hopefully I'll be able to go back to my regular job of blogging soon. But until then, I'll keep working hard to take care of my mom!

My mom went to Pet Fair this weekend to see all the gorgeous LBR foster dogs looking for their furever homes. And she brought home a whole bunch of smell mail for me! How exciting. I wonder who all was there...

Oh, of course handsome Mr. Roarke was there! But wait, Mom, didn't he get adopted?! Oh, his new mom brought him by to say hello. Oh, that was sure nice of her! Hi, Roarke!

Hmm, I've sure got a lot of smell mail from the beautiful Miss Pink. It's almost like she was sitting in your lap half the time, Mom. I thought you said I was the only lapdog in your life!! I feel so betrayed... Oh, is that all? She just stole your chair? Phew, okay, that's a relief. I was getting worried.

Look at this handsome guy! Percy came to hang out with everyone before starting his heartworm treatment tomorrow. He looks very strong and brave. I'm sure he'll get through his treatment with no troubles at all!

Hi there, Zia! It's always nice to hear from you. I don't know why you're still around to go to so many pet fairs, because you're absolutely beee-YOU-tiful! I know you'll find the perfect furever family soon.

Little Luv thought her toy needed some luv-ing, I guess! Her smell has lots and lots of human scents on it too. I guess she was getting loved on and admired by bunches of humans while she was there.

Wow, who could resist that smile? Little Missy is a good friend of mine, and I always love hearing from her! I hear she was really sweet and well-behaved at Pet Fair, just like the sweet little lady she is. Don't worry, Little Missy, your family will find you soon!

Geez Louise, what a beautiful dog! Only fitting that her name really is Geez Louise, because that's all anybody can shout out when they see her.

Miss Alpine has the boxer pouty face absolutely perfected. I think she was getting lots of attention to. We had lots of the gorgeous white babies there, and they're always attention-getting!

See, here's another one! Ovie is a handsome teenager looking for his very own furever family to love. He's got lots of boxer energy to shower you with attention!

Hey, everybody, happy Friday the 13th! My mom really loves this day, and I'd like it a lot more if she didn't insist on wearing black kitty earrings all day. I don't get it. Anyway, I want to spend a special Friday telling you about a special gal.

Meet TESSA!

I know what you're thinking -- "wait a minute, Casey, why are you calling your sissy Tessa all of a sudden?" I know, that looks just like my sissy Cinderella, but it's not! We think they're long-lost sisters or something. They look so much alike, they act a lot a like, and Tessa even has most of the same health problems Cinderella had when she came to us! That's why Tessa holds such a special place in mine and Mom's hearts.

Tessa is a silver senior just like Ella is. We're guessing she's maybe 11 years old. But guess what? She still knows how to PLAY!

Tessa loves it at her new foster home. She thinks that Bevo should be her new boyfriend, not her brother!

And she gets along with all the girls there too!

We talk a lot about how important vaccinations are, but here's a sad illustration.

Beautiful Derby died this weekend of Parvo, a disease that is completely preventable with one simple, inexpensive vaccination. When we heard how sick she was in the shelter, LBR pulled her and rushed her to the vet to try to help her. Sadly, she was too far advanced and went into cardiac arrest. :( Please don't let more dogs like Derby die from something so easily prevented!! Vaccinate your pets.

I hope everyone had a great Christmas! Cinderella, Mom, and I all packed up and headed to my Grandma and Grandpa's house for Christmas. We got to play with my cousin Bear (my uncle's dog) and my aunt Gracie (Grandma & Grandpa's dog). Plus, on Christmas morning we had a ton of pawsome presents! Lookit! (Oh, and Mom says sorry about the bad pictures, but she forgot her camera and could only take pictures with her phone. Sheesh, Mom!)

Okay, they're not all for me. They're for me, Cinderella, our kitties, Gracie, and Bear. But I helped Mom open most of them! Here's Cinderella playing with some cool toys from our Aunt L.

Mom got pretty new ID tags for me and Cinderella. I already looked pretty darned handsome, but with the new bling, I'm almost too good-looking to be allowed! (No, boxers don't have modesty problems. :))

Cinderella liked hers because it was pink and sparkly. Hmph, girls!

Grandma and Grandpa gave us cool toys too! The fox is mine, and Cinderella got a rabbit. (The duck in the background is my cousin Bear's. I picked it out for him because I have one at home that I play with lots!)

I hope everyone's Christmas was as much fun as ours! Now I think I need to sleep for a few months straight to recover from all the excitement.

A very merry Christmas to all our readers and fans out there! This is going to be my last post until after Christmas, so I wanted to make it extra-special. First, I wanted to wish a very special little lady a merry Christmas.
LBR foster Tuscany has been staying with us this week, and we LOVE her! She came to us really scared, but she started to relax and realize she was finally safe and part of the LBR family. I wish she could stay with us for always (so does Mom!), but Mom's taking her today to her new foster home. I know Santa Paws will find her there and make sure she has a wonderful Christmas. As soon as she gets the yucky wormies out of her heart, she'll be ready to look for her own furever home. I know she's going to get the most specialist one out there, because she's such a special dog!!

Next, I have an awesome announcement. Do you remember earlier this week when I showed you a picture of LBR foster Doc Holliday? Well, now that should be LBR alum Doc Holliday! Yup, Doc got his very own furever home for the holidays. His new mom is awesome and loves him SO much. Here's Doc's happy holiday.

Isn't she pretty? And she's sweet too! She's about four years old, and after a lifetime of living out in the Texas heat, she's finally learned what it's like to be inside. She's done very well on house- and crate-training. I hear she's been practicing extra hard so she can be the perfect dog for her new family.

She does really well with children, even very young children. A lot of us boxers can be a little too excitable for that! She also gets along great with other dogs, but not cats. (I don't blame her. I'm still trying to figure out what to do now that my kitty sister has decided she likes me!)

I'm back! I missed all of you, but boy did I have fun snuggling with Grandma and going on lots and lots of walks with Grandpa. Mom says she had fun on her cruise-thingy too, but I know she was just so lonely without us.

To celebrate my return, I have an incredibly special dog to talk to you about. Meet APACHE!!

Are you looking for your soul dog? Apache is a loving boy who’s looking for his own special forever home. He love’s people of all ages, & being near them most of the day. A person/family that is home most of the day would be his dream come true. He currently lives with 3 other boxers but his ideal home he would be the only pet. He didn’t have the best first 2 years of his life so now that his life is good, he wants to be spoiled & spoil his people right back. Some of his favorite things to do are snuggle, spoon with you on the couch, play ball & play with his rope toys. Oh & eat!! He loves breakfast & dinner time, he can get a little messy with that tongue but no need to worry, he’ll clean up after himself. He’s also a great shadow, you never have to worry what he’s up to as he’ll be right by your side.

He doesn’t know a lot of tricks or commands but he learns routine very quickly so we talk to him like he’s human & he understands. Sit is one command he is great at & every time he does it, he gets a very proud look on his face! He adores children of all ages & gets so excited anytime they come to visit him. He doesn’t mind the 4 year old girl that loves to chase him, use him as a step stool, as a recliner, or hug him until his eyeballs are about to pop out.

Apache has been with LBR for more than two years as he worked through some health problems. We thought he was going to be a Keeper for a while because of kidney problems, but now as long as he eats a special food he's fine! It's vacation week! Cinderella and I are going to hang out with Grandma and Grandpa this week. It's going to be so much fun! I feel sorry for my mom. She's going to be SO lonely without us. She's going to try hard to have fun anyway on something called a "cruise". Pft. Can't be nearly as much fun as walks with Grandpa! All I want for Christmas is TULIA!

Did you know that it's December already?! That means it's time for all the pretty lights to go up on the houses so we can have a nicely lit walk and time to start pretend-- er, being extra-good so that Santa Paws brings me some great things under the tree this year. Almost exactly three years ago, I got the bestest Christmas present any dog could ever get -- my own furever home! My mom adopted me just two weeks before Christmas, so I got to spend Christmas in my very own home. My special Christmas wish is that lots of my LBR cousins can get that awesome of a Christmas gift too!

So to kick off the Christmas season, I want to talk about a very special dog. The beeYOOtiful Miss Tulia!

My mom just loves Tulia, and after every pet fair she comes home smelling like she's been loving on Tulia an awful lot. (Maybe I should be worried!) But Mom says that Tulia is just so sweet and snuggly and lovable that you can't help but cuddle her all the time.

Tulia is about two years old and a big, goofy boxer gal. She has the prettiest brindle fur and eyes that Mom says are almost as pretty as mine. She's very well behaved, and even though she didn't know any tricks before she came to LBR, she's already mastered sit, shake, and lie down. What a good girl! She loves to play with toys, especially her Kong Wobbler, and she's even a good girl in her crate. This girl's the whole package!

My mom went to a really fun fundraiser for LBR last night. I would've liked to go too, but I can't quite manage to work a paintbrush with my paws! See, it was a painting party at a place called Let's Art in Plano, Texas. They sketch out a design on the canvas for you, then guide you through getting the colors and the shading and stuff right. Since this is LBR and our volunteers can't seem to think of anything besides their babies (and rightly so!), we got them to put together a cute drawing of a boxer. You could have cropped or natural ears, and then you could modify the colors and stuff to paint your own dog. How cool is that?

Everyone worked very hard to get it right.

Power of the Paw needed urgently!

Hello to all my furiends out there! I hope you had a good Thanksgiving, with lots of turkey and friends and things to be thankful for. I'm thankful for all the amazing people and dogs of Legacy Boxer Rescue! And right now, one of them needs our help really badly. Charity hasn't been feeling well since she had her surgery a few days ago. She had to go to the emergency vet today, and they found out she has a massive kidney infection. It's so bad that her poor little kidneys have shut down. :(

The vets are trying lots of things to help her, but they don't know if any of it will work. If she hasn't improved by tomorrow morning, then they're going to help her to the Bridge. I know that vets are awesome, but the power of the paw is even more awesome. Please please please keep Charity in your thoughts and prayers tonight. She has so much still to live for, and I know Santa Paws has an extra-special gift already prepared for her.

Please send up your thoughts, prayers, or good vibes for Charity and her foster mom and dad, who are really worried about her. We have four sets of paws crossed at my house!

GET WELL, CHARITY!

Update: I'm very sad to report that Charity passed away this afternoon. :( She was very loved, and I know she has lots of LBR cousins ready to play with her on the Bride. I hope my Aunt Nina shows her around.

Another Charity update

There's not much new to report on our sweet girl, but I wanted to share some super-sweet pictures of her. You can tell she's getting used to the good life in her new foster home! Here she is with her foster sister, fellow LBR foster Miss Demeanor.

I don't recommend this diet, but now that Charity's little "friend" has been removed, she's lost over three pounds! Yuck, what a nasty growth. She had another tumor removed too, plus started her heartworm treatment. She's going to have a lot of healing to do for a while, but you can tell she already feels so much better. Yay, Charity!

A special lady

You know, I think all the folks at Legacy Boxer Rescue pretty well rock. They saved me, after all, and a whole bunch of other handsome boxers like me. But every now and again, they do something that just makes me really, really proud to be their ambassador.

I want to introduce you to a really special lady. This is Charity.

Do you see that weird-looking thing behind her right leg? That's a H-U-G-E tumor! I don't know how she even walks with that thing on! I know that boxers are prone to tumors, but that's just ridiculous! Here's a video of her so you can see it better. YUCK!

Pretty miserable, huh? Well, her last humans let her get to that point, and instead of doing anything to help her they just dumped her at the shelter! She was really miserable there, and she was going to be put to sleep just so she wouldn't hurt anymore.

Well, that's when the pawesome folks at LBR stepped up! One of our volunteers went to pick her up just so that she could have an afternoon of cheeseburgers and love before being helped to the Rainbow Bridge by one of our vets. But then another of our volunteers said, "Wait a minute! This girl's got spunk!" They thought she deserved a chance to fight it out for as long as she could, so they agreed to take her as their very own foster for however long she has left.

Charity lurves her new foster daddy!

So now Charity is a Legacy dog, and that means she's part of our family forever! She has a foster home that will love her and take care of her for as long as we can. She's never going to know what it's like to be scared and alone again. And that's why LBR people are the very bestest humans anywhere in the world.

I think Charity agrees!

Charity is going to the vet today to get that nasty tumor looked at, plus a bunch of other ones she has too. Please send her lots of warm fuzzy thoughts that everything goes well. I know that now she's found out what it's like to be part of the Legacy family, she wants to be in it for as long as she can. We love you, Charity!

Dog of the Day; Meet ZsaZsa!

Rescue Me Week may be over, but it's always rescue time here at LBR! We have over 100 available dogs, and more coming every day. Right now there are a lot of dogs in shelters that really need a foster home, but most of ours are full up! Do you know the best way to get a new foster place? Get a dog adopted!!

So today I want to introduce all of you to the lovely and fabulous Miss Zsa Zsa!

Zsa Zsa was named for the equally fabulous Gabor, but I think she's even prettier than her namesake! She's 4-5 years old and loves to play and snuggle in equal measure! She lives with several other dogs right now and gets along fine with them, but she really loves to be the center of attention, just like any diva!

Zsa Zsa would do best with slightly older kids, but basically she loves anyone who wants to pet her ears and make her the center of their world! Don't you think you need a Zsa Zsa of your own?

Last week for Mayzie's Rescue Me Week and Adopt a Senior Pet Day, I posted about a sweet old gal named Ruby looking for a furever home. Sadly, just a few days later, Miss Ruby passed away. She'd been listless for a few days and was having tests run, but before they could figure out what was wrong, her foster dad came home to find she'd gone on to the Rainbow Bridge.

Her foster daddy and the rest of us at LBR miss her lots and lots. She was always a sweet sight at pet fairs, an island of serenity in an ocean of eager young boxers. Godspeed, Miss Ruby. We won't forget you!

Wow, I have such an awesome post for you today! There are so many amazing things going on today. First off, it's Veterans Day. Now, even though they have that yucky "v-e-t" in their name, this kind of vet is the amazing kind who serves our country to defend all our freedoms, even at the cost of their own lives. LBR would like to raise a 21-paw salute to all the brave veterans, both two-legged and four-legged, who have served or are currently serving. Thank you for all you do!

Next, today is the last day of Mayzie's Rescue Me Week! Mayzie is honoring her Grampa J by encouraging all bloggers to share pictures and information about all the amazing animals out there that are still looking for their furever homes. And as if that isn't enough, she's going to donate $100 to five different charities that are featured during the week! I think Grampa J must've been a pretty amazing guy. Thanks, Mayzie!

So our dog today is the incredibly handsome ALDRIDGE! Aldi is about two years old, and he's a very good boy full of boxer energy.

Aldi loves to run and play. He would be a great running partner for you! He's very strong, but he's been working really hard to let the humans lead on the leash. He would probably do best with kids over 5 because of his strength and energy. But he knows "sit" and other commands, and he does well in his crate. He loves to hear "Good boy, Aldi!" :)

Aldi loves to play with other dogs, especially his foster brother and sister. But like most boxers, he's a wonderful snugglebug at the end of the day.

Wow, it's already Day 4 of Mayzie's Rescue Me Week! Visit Mayzie's blog for the loooooong list of rescue dogs that have been featured already. It's inspiring to see so many people trying to help dogs in need!

For Day 4, I have a really special dog to talk about. Her name is Molly. Isn't she just bee-OOO-tiful?

Molly has been with LBR for a long time -- over two years!! Hard to believe that a gorgeous girl like her would have such a hard time finding a furever family, but she needs a really special family and has been working hard to be the perfect dog for them!

Molly is a three-year-old boxer mix, and she's a barrel of fun! She has lots of energy and loves to play, so she needs an active family that will get her the exercise she needs. She isn't a good fit for young kids, but she'd love some active pre-teens and teenagers to chase and run with. She loves loves loves chasing her ball and is completely tireless when it comes to fetch. But at the end of the day, she loves to be a little snuggle-bunny and curl up in your lap.

What about other dogs? Well, Molly likes other dogs once she gets a chance to get to know them. She gets a little nervous and needs a good introduction with them. So she wouldn't do well with dog parks or a lot of strange dogs around. But if you're patient with her, she can make really good friends.

It's Day 3 of Mayzie's Rescue Me Week, and I have a very special boxer to talk about.

Meet ARETHA!! Isn't she just gorgeous? I just love her. She's a sweet little 1-year-old puppy who had a hard lot in life. Just like me, she had to fight through yucky demodex mange, a skin disease that makes you lose your fur. But she's a tough chick, and she is now certified healthy and ready to go! Just look at that pretty fur. :)

And did you know that she's cat-friendly too? Not a lot of boxers get the whole "cats are friends, not food/toys" mantra, but Aretha has it down pat!

Rescue Me! - UPDATE! Lucky Gelato!

It's day 2 of Rescue Me Week, and I've got a special treat for you!

Here at Legacy Boxer Rescue, we have lots and lots and lots of dogs looking for their furever homes. So you get TWO dogs today!

This is handsome Hancock, a two-year-old big boy who loves to play! He loves little kids and other dogs, and he does really well on a leash. He's even crate-trained! How could you not love this handsome face??

Then there's his beeee-U-ti-ful foster sister, pretty Miss Gelato! She's only 1 1/2, and she loves dogs and kids as much as Hancock does. They play together all the time! She's housebroken and crate-trained like a proper lady. And she has the most awesome soft fur, so she's wonderful to snuggle with!

Rescue Me Week

It's always rescue week here at the Legacy Chronicles, but this week is a special "Rescue Me Week" on Blogville, in honor of my furiend Mayzie's Grampa J. She's asking us to feature adoptable pets in need of rescue every day this week. LBR has plenty of those!

Since it's also "Adopt a Senior Pet" Month, I thought I'd choose another of our sweet seniors looking for a home of their own during their golden years. So please meet the jewel of LBR, sweet Miss Ruby!

Ruby is 8-9 years old and comes jam-packed with all the wisdom of those years. that means she already knows things like "don't potty in the house" and "don't chew on the human shoes, no matter how yummy they look." Hard stuff for some of those younger pups, but she's got it down! She also isn't crazy-hyper like those younger dogs, especially boxers, can be. Senior dogs are wonderful choices if you love a boxer personality but aren't quite up to the energy level!

Ruby gets along beautifully with the other dogs at her foster home, so if you were wanting a companion for an older or calmer pet, she would be a wonderful choice. She also loves to be the center of attention, so if you don't have any pets that's fine by her too! She's happy to sit and snuggle with you as long as you want.

Hey, did you know that November is "Adopt a Senior Pet" Month? Senior pets can make a wonderful addition to your family. They come to you with a lifetime of experience, meaning they already know important things like where is appropriate to potty and what is appropriate to chew on (not Mom's shoes!). They still love to play, but they're not as energetic as those crazy puppies are. That makes them champion snugglers! Plus, they've seen the big world out there, and they know what a good thing they have with you. Senior pets can be the most loyal and loving ones out there. Please don't overlook a wonderful pet just because of a little gray on their muzzles. Adopt a senior pet today!

I just love Halloween! I get to look extra-handsome in a costume, get lots of cookies from my mom, and sit out in the front yard while kids from all over the neighborhood come over just to see me! (Well, Cinderella and me, of course. But mostly me.)

Here I am as the handsome, all-powerful sultan.

This is my harem girl, Cinderella. She's a beautiful bellydancer, and her costume jingles when she walks! She was prancing around all night to show it off.

Here's the whole pack! (Well, the kitties stayed inside. They're grumpy and don't like to dress up.) Mom was really nice -- whenever the kids came up to visit me, she gave them candy!

I got to go to a Halloween pet parade today! It was so much fun. Some LBR dogs turned out in fine style to strut our stuff.

I really don't know why humans do it. Why are they so fascinated by that flashy thing they shove in our faces all the time? They'll even withhold cookies trying to get us to look at it longer! It's even worse when one of them gets a brand new one, because then they want to try it out over and over and over again. What's a dog to do??

My sister Cinderella hasn't realized just how bad this is. She just smiles and acts happy about the whole thing.

But I know the truth. This is nothing less than torture. How would she like having a flashy thing shoved in her face all the time?

Even my kitty sister Pigeon was pulled in. Poor thing, she looks terrified.

The torture seems to have stopped for today, but I know it will be back. She just can't help herself. Why did I have to be born so darned handsome? It's a tough life.

HRMPH!! You may have heard that my Texas Rangers tied up the World Series last night in a thrilling 4-0 shutout victory right here in DFW. I was wearing my Rangers bandana and was all ready to cheer on my Rangers.

Did I get to? NO!! And I'll tell you why -- my MEAN MOM! Instead of watching the game with me and Cinderella at home -- where I could bark my Rangers war chant -- she went to the game without me! How dare she! I'm a Rangers fan, I'm lots of fun at games, and I look darn snazzy in my Rangers shirt. I'm sure they would've let me in!

A very sad day

Today is a very sad day for my Auntie Sharon. And since she's the founder of LBR, anything that makes her sad makes boxers all over Texas sad. :(

This handsome guy is one of her dogs, Booker. Booker has had a long, wonderful life with Auntie Sharon, but lately he hasn't been feeling well and had lots of seizures. They finally learned it was a big, nasty brain tumor, and there wasn't anything more they could do for him. So today they're going to help him to the Bridge, where he'll be healthy and won't hurt anymore.

This is really hard on everyone, because Booker is an awesome guy that everyone in LBR loved. Goodbye, Booker, you'll be really missed! And Auntie Sharon, everyone is sending you lots of hugs and boxer kisses to help you feel better. We love you!

Can I ask a favor? All you humans that are out there thinking about bringing a dog into your life, or the ones who already have, I'd just like for you to stop and think for a minute. Because dogs (especially boxers!) are wonderful. Dogs are amazing. Dogs will give you our whole heart. We'll be the wagging tail that greets you when you come home every day, we'll be the warm body to snuggle up to when you're feeling rotten, we'll be the silly antics that make you smile no matter how bad your day has been. No matter what you do, no matter what you look like, no matter how the rest of the world treats you, we'll be there for you.

Do you want to know my favor? The one thing that we ask in return for all that love? When it's our time, when we're old and hurting... please stay with us. We love you. We gave you our whole life and heart and soul. When it's time for us to go on, please don't say "it's too hard" or you "just can't stand it." Don't make the last person we see be the vet. Worse, don't make us wait scared and alone at the shelter, not knowing what we did wrong or why our family abandoned us just when we needed you the most.

This is Painter. He loyally loved his family like a good dog should. And when he was hurt, his family didn't give any of that loyalty back to him. We think he had a stroke, or maybe some kind of brain tumor. He couldn't move his left side at all and his right side only a little. Instead of staying with him and holding him, his family left him at a shelter to make the poor shelter workers do what they couldn't.

Painter did find a family before it was too late. Two LBR volunteers went to look at him in the shelter and knew they couldn't leave him there, barely able to move on the rainbow blanket the shelter workers gave him but still trying to do his boxer wiggle. They did what family should do. They took him to the vet, they found out that nothing else could be done to help him, and they held him while the vet helped him to the Rainbow Bridge. Painter was a member of the Legacy family before he died, so he didn't die alone.

That's all any of us ask from you humans out there. We love you, and we'll do anything for you. Please, please don't make us die alone.

Mums & Roses

This weekend was action-packed! LBR's big annual fundraiser, MUMS & ROSES, was on Saturday. We had about a million volunteers out ready to rock the plant stand! (Literally.)

We had all sorts of just gorgeous plants ready to be sold to new homes to help make money for the boxers.

We had a few boxers out too. :)

This is the first shift of our million volunteers.

One of our awesome Facebook friends came down to visit us all the way from Pennsylvania! She met Huxley, her favorite LBR dog. (Other than me, of course!) Joana calls Hux her internet puppy. We all loved seeing them meet at last.

Mom had fun too. One of the LBR volunteers is also fostering for a Boston terrier rescue, and she got lots of love nibbles from Riley.

Best of all, we raised over $12,000 for LBR!!! That's a whole lot of kibble and vet visits!

We celebrated my sissy Cinderella's birthday this weekend. My aunt Joni (she was my foster mom back when I was an LBR foster dog!) came over, and Ella and I got to have yummy pupcakes! But first we had to pose for pictures.

Mom says sorry about the quality of the pictures -- she was picking up her camera to take the pictures and dropped it on the floor. Now it's broken and she is very sad. She had to take these with her camera phone, and it's just not the same.

Happy birthday, Cinderella! You're the best sissy ever. Thanks for sharing your pupcakes. :)

More Wags & Waves fun!

I wasn't the only LBR dog having fun at Wags & Waves last weekend! We had lots of alums stop by to play. Mom only got pictures of a few of them, but they sure all looked like they were having fun.

This is Maximus. He was an itty bitty puppy with a hurt paw when LBR first found him, but he's livin' large with his new daddy now!

Cleveland shares my thoughts on the Lazy River. This is a seriously freaky place. Really, WHY would you want to ride in one of those bouncy tube thingies on top of water?

This is my buddy Bevo. We had lots of fun playing in the wave pool together. He wasn't adopted through LBR, but he has an LBR alum sister and is a great foster brother to a bunch of LBR fosters.

Baxter knows he's handsome -- he's got the same awesome life jacket that I wore!

Tyson tried snorkeling, but I don't think he liked it very much!

Wow, I'm so tired I can barely type this. I had a BLAST today, though! Mom and I went to this awesome thing called Wags & Waves. It's held at a local waterpark at the end of their season, and there are dogs everywhere. I'm not that much of a swimmer, but I have a lot of fun meeting the other doggies and splashing around. I have a whole bunch of pictures to share, but to start off, here's a few shots of my epic swim adventure.

This water stuff is pretty intimidating in large doses!

But I'm brave and fearless, at least when I really HAVE to be.

But wow, this is actually pretty fun after a while!

There's one strange thing that I've learned since I started working as an official Boxer Ambassador for LBR. Boxers eat babies. I know, it sounds shocking! Here I always thought boxers were awesome with children and were wonderful family dogs. But we hear it all the time -- "I'm having a baby, so I have to give my dog up." Not because the dog's shown any kind of aggression or anything, but just because everyone inherently Knows the truth.

So I've gone digging through my archives, and I was just shocked at how many pictures I found that prove it! Boxers should clearly never be allowed around children. Why, just look at Bonsai and his skin-brother Deacon! He's preparing to snap at any minute.

Winston obviously likes to tenderize his victims before going in for the kill.

Tyson may look little, but look at how he took down that human!

Remington likes to go for the straight-forward attack.

And look at Noel here, clearly planning to strike at any moment.

Maximus prefers the smothering attack.

Maggie Mae and Mulligan like getting a little appetizer before going in for the whole baby.

Woof! Sorry I've been so quiet lately, but my typist claims she's been really busy at that "work" thing she claims to go to. Yeah, yeah, I know she spends all day lounging around somewhere eating bonbons without us. Hrmph!

Well, as repayment, I'll show you some super-cute pictures of a pair of best buds -- Ami and Talamo.

These guys have a real "bromance" going. They're best friends and just love to play all day!

They even know how to share!

The really neat part? Talamo, the flashy fawn boy, was deemed a "man eater" by the shelter and they said he was dangerous. Ami, the brindle, was so scared when he first went to his foster home he shook 24/7 and refused to eat or drink for more than 4 days. He didn't eat regular meals for over a week.

Now they say they'll be friends forever. Or at least while they both look for their awesome furever homes.

Anyone remember Alouette and her babies? She's a new LBR foster dog who found comfort in a little pink baby dog toy. She carries it everywhere, bathes it, and sleeps with it. Her foster mom was telling everyone how much she loves it, and how she's afraid how Alouette would react if one of the other dogs got hold of it and destroyed it.

So what did the awesome LBR volunteers do?

Yup, they raided every Petsmart in the area and bought Alouette as many pink babies as we could find! Some of the awesome Petsmart employees were helping us dig through clearance bins and even getting forklifts out to get into the way up high stuff.

Man oh man, am I tired! I'm glad I get a nice, long nap while Mom goes to work, because I could use it. Wonder why I'm so tired? Well, blame THIS!

Oh sure, she looks cute and innocent. But she's got energy! She's really giving me some good cardio, that's for sure. This is Briar Rose. She was my foster sister a long time ago, before Cinderella came to live with us. We thought she'd found her forever home, but then her dad lost his job and had to send her back to us. He was a runner, and they'd go running a couple of miles every single day. Now Rosie has me running that in laps around the house and the backyard! She's fun to play with, but I've got to teach her the fine art of resting. :)

It sure is quiet around our house today. Do you know why? Because my foster sister Vivian went and got herself adopted yesterday! She seems really happy with her new dad, and I know he's going to spoil her like crazy. We miss her a whole lot, though. Mom said she cried the whole drive home after dropping Vivian off yesterday.

I don't know about where you are, but it's sure been HOT in Texas lately. We're in the middle of a long string of 100-degree days, and yesterday was 110! And that was the day my mom's air conditioner died, of course. She was really worried about how my sisters and I would handle it. We ended up having to go to Aunt Diana's for a little while to watch TV with her in the AC while Mom sweated and waited on the repairman. Remember, dogs want a cool place to stay in weather like that as much as a human does. Especially if they're short-snouted breeds like boxers, since we have a lot of trouble breathing when it gets hot.

Meet pretty Alouette, a new foster here at LBR. Her foster mom took her to the store today for a pretty new collar and happened to pick up a new toy for her. Well, Alouette just loved it! She took it around to show off to all the other dogs, nubbin wagging the whole time, then gave it a good bath and settled down for a nap with it. I love seeing foster dogs learn what the good life is all about!

Look at that nekkid boy! Ha hah, poor Denmark. Denny had his surgery yesterday, so they shaved him nearly bald. That poor guy. He still is in a pretty good mood, though. I know he's going to feel a lot better now!

Lark and Pip also had their surgeries this week, so LBR is pounding down the vet bills. We still have two more surgeries to go, unfortunately. Poor Lark was supposed to have just a half-hour procedure, but it ended up taking more than two and a half hours to fix her hurt hip! I'll share a picture of her as soon as I get one that's safe to share. I'm not going to embarrass that sweet little lady like I did Denmark. ;)

I am on strike. It's 104 degrees today. Did you hear that? ONE HUNDRED AND FOUR!!! This is ridiculous. It's miserable. It's dog abuse! I demand a private air-conditioned pod for my daily walks and potty breaks. With something to protect my poor paws from that hot pavement!

At least LBR foster May has found a way to keep cool. AHEM, Mom, where is mine?!

Well, if your mom is as cruel as mine and refuses to buy you an air-conditioned pod or private pool, just try to stay cool. Remember, short-snouted dogs like boxers and bulldogs can't handle the heat very well! It starts to get really hard to breath when it's too hot. Be sure that your human only takes you on walks early in the morning or late in the evening when it's a little cooler (hah, around here that's still 85!), and don't stay out in the backyard for too long at a time. Even if you don't get an awesome pool like May's, remember to drink lots of water too!

Now everyone close your eyes and pretend it's winter. Ahhhhh....

Ugh, I see why humans are always talking about those green papers. They're so hard to get, but you need them for everything!! Right now LBR is really in need of a lot of green papers to help not one, not two, but five of our dogs that need surgery. It's called or-tho-ped-ic surgery, which means it's to help their bones. Poor babies!

Denmark is ashamed that he's the first of our babies who needs help. He has a torn cruciate ligament, and his surgery will be $2,000 - 2,300.

Look at this cute face! Pippi (because she's got a long stocking, see?) fell a long way and broke both of the bones in her back leg. It was a really nasty break, with the bones actually poking through the skin. Owwww! We're not sure how much her surgery will be, but another dog with a similar issue cost us about $2,600.

Look at handsome Walker! He came to us with a nasty injury that basically took all the skin off his leg! We didn't know that he also broke his foot, and now he has some pieces of bone floating around that have to get chased down and taken out. His surgery will run around $2,500.

Lark is relieved that she isn't the most expensive of the group. At a mere $800-1,000, she's almost cheap! But she needs surgery to fix a dislocated hip. She was used as a breeding machine and then dumped, and her hip was out long enough that it can't just be popped back into place. Ow!

Finally there's handsome Beckham, who says he can be a soccer star if he can just get his old hip injury repaired. That's another $800-1,000.

All told, these babies mean Legacy is facing around $9,000 in surgery bills. That's a huuuuuge chunk of our budget, and we could really use some help. If you have even a few dollars to spare, please go to Legacy Boxer Rescue to donate. Every little bit helps! And if you don't have anything to spare, please at least send up some good thoughts and prayers for these 5 babies that their surgeries go well and they don't have any other problems! They really appreciate the support.

My poor foster sister isn't feeling well right now. She had to go to the V-E-T yesterday and have some nasty lumps removed. (We boxers are really prone to that yucky cancer stuff, so we have to remove lumps quickly to check them out!) She was gone aaaaaall day, and when she came home she just wanted to lie on the couch. Mom thought she looked kind of pathetic.

You can kind of see the stitches on her side. She also has two more sets on the other side, on her back leg. Poor thing. :\ Mom isn't letting her go on walks with us for a few days either, and Vivian doesn't like that at all!

We have an extra-extra-special dog of the day today. It's.... MY sister!! No, don't worry, Mom's not giving up Cinderella. ;) But we have a foster sister who's going to live with us while she looks for her perfect furever home. And what's the point of having a blog if you can't use it for some selfish reasons every now and then? So....

Meet VIVIAN!!

Vivian is a beautiful 5-year-old boxer gal who is an absolute snugglebug. Seriously, she likes nothing better than to snuggle all the time, whether it's with Mom or me and Cinderella or random visitors. She loves to cuddle.

She also loves to play! We were all fast friends within about five minutes of her showing up at the house. She's never met a dog she doesn't love, and she's been around lots of dogs of different personalities. We play and play and play, then collapse and all snuggle together until we're ready to play play play some more.

Vivian's also good with the kitties that live here. She completely ignores them, which made Mom really happy. Oh, and she's what we call a "pocket boxer" -- she's a tiny little thing (about 40 pounds!) that would fit in your pocket. Everyone who meets her starts cooing "oh aren't you so cuuuuuute!" Yeah, yeah, yeah, we're all cute, we get it. It's hard having such admiring fans.

Vivian loves hanging out with us, but she told me that what she wants more than anything is a furever home with a mom or dad of her very own. Other dogs or on her own, with cats or kids or whatever -- she just wants to be loved! Alabama first came to our attention hear at LBR when she was a scared soon-to-be mama waiting in a shelter. She had a gorgeous litter of LBR puppies, the All-Stars!

Here's one of them all grown up, Borg. Doesn't Bama grow them handsome??

Nowadays Bama and her brother Zeke keep their paws busy by helping their dad run Chez Grandjean, a very busy LBR hotel! They have all sorts of foster dogs there, some long-term and some babysitting. Phew, I'm tired just looking after one!

We're very happy to have Alabama join us here with her own fun perspective on LBR events. So everyone give her a great big Blogville welcome!

Hello, fellow boxer lovers. Alabama, aka “Miss ‘Bama Lama Ding Dong,” mother to the 2010 Legacy All-Stars here. Has it really been almost a year since I rescued my human? My, how time does fly! Thankfully, my daddy knew about rescue boxers before I came along.

Herr Boomer, a 1½ year old fawn male boxer (and Lone Star Boxer Rescue alumnus) previously rescued him in August 2001, four years before I was even born. Dad still talks about him, and to him (His urn sits on a bookshelf in the den.). Zeke and I notice that he still gets tears in his eyes every so often. I am told that Boomer was a much better passenger than I. It is my understanding that he would sprawl out in the backseat and go to sleep if they were in the car for more than 15 minutes. Anyway, the 3^rd of July will mark the 1 year anniversary of Herr Boomer’s crossing over the rainbow bridge.

Grandpa says he told Dad to take it easy, and that he would know when the time was right to rescue another boxer. Apparently, life wasn’t that great for dad in the weeks that followed; so he decided to apply with Legacy Boxer Rescue, and attended something called a Pet Fair, where he met several boxers (including me!). I looked at him with my big brown eyes, hoping to tug at his heart. As luck would have it, my attempt was successful. A week after Pet Fair, I officially rescued him, and now call Chez Grandjean my home. We settled in together for a month before dad got really active in the rescue group. Over the last year, we have reserved rooms at Chez Grandjean for foster-sitting, short-term fostering and even long-term fostering. Everyone knows I’m the boss, and that’s just the way like it.

I convinced Dad that his first foster, Mister Zeke, would be a failure (apparently everyone says it’s a good thing). Dad left for a business trip the last weekend in October, and when he returned a few days later, Zeke officially became my brother. My patience has been tested by several follow-on fosters, including 8 month-old Caliente. She was a dusty little thing with a skin infection and something called demodex mange. However, she was an awesome playtime buddy for Zeke and me. Incidentally, I recently forgave her for destroying the first squeaky toy (and my favorite, by the way) that Dad gave me shortly after my daring, but successful rescue attempt in late July.

The next interesting one was this big guy named Drake. He’s all white, except for the top of his brindle nub. It took me a little while to figure out he was deaf, but I think that’s what made him special. The day that Drake went to his forever home with his new brother, Rocky, Dad held both Zeke and me extra tight. There’s no denying that there were a few tears on his pillow that night, but I think they were tears of happiness, because Drake got a wonderful family. We’re all working with Heath, a handsome fawn male with a black mask, hoping that his forever home is right around the corner. At the same time, Miss Ruby and Senore Enzo Ferrari have come to stay awhile, as they recover from near starvation, neglect and heartworm treatment.

I want to thank my foster moms, Aunt Kaffy and Auntie Gail for their understanding while I was with puppy, both before and after delivery. Gail has the best tasting shoes. Kaffy helped me raise the All-Stars, who are all worthy contributors to society. Even though I’m done raising puppies, I do want you to know that I am raising foster boxers (with Dad’s help, of course). It’s a tough job, but someone has to do it.

Jack is a Hero!

Jack was surrendered by his owners in May, and went to a new Legacy Boxer Rescue foster home. His foster mom promptly fell in love with Jack and decided he wasn't a foster any more. He was staying!

Jack was acting odd yesterday morning and kept trying to get his new mom to go outside. When she went outside, she smelled a very faint gas odor and immediately called the gas company. There was no leak around Jack's house, but it turns out there was a gas leak down the street. The repairman said that Jack probably saved someone's life today!

Jack is very modest, and is not a fan of posing for pictures, but everyone wants to see the hero, right?

A Rescuer's Legacy

Unlike most days at RainBow Bridge, this day dawned cold and gray, damp as a swamp and as dismal as could be imagined. All the recent arrivals were confused and concerned. They had no idea what to think for they had never experienced a day like this before. But the animals who had spent some time waiting for their beloved people knew exactly what was happening and began to gather at the pathway leading to the Bridge to watch. They knew this was something special.

It wasn't too long before an elderly animal came into view, head hung heavy and low with tail dragging along the ground. The other animals on the pathway...the ones who had been at RainBow Bridge for a while...knew the story of this sad creature immediately. They had seen it happen far too many times.

Although it was obvious the animal's heart was leaden and he was totally overcome with emotional pain and hurt, there was no sign of injury or any illness. Unlike the pets waiting at the Bridge, this dog had not been restored to his prime. He was full of neither health nor vigor. He approached slowly and painfully, watching all the pets who were by now watching him. He knew he was out of place here. This was no resting place for him. He felt instinctively that the sooner he could cross over, the happier he would be. But alas, as he came closer to the Bridge, his way was barred by the appearance of an Angel who spoke softly to the old dog and apologized sorrowfully, telling him that he would not be able to pass. Only those animals who were with their special people could pass over the RainBow Bridge. And he had no special beloved people...not here at the Bridge nor on Earth below.

With no place else to turn, the poor elderly dog looked toward the fields before the Bridge. There, in a separate area nearby, he spotted a group of other sad-eyed animals like himself...elderly and infirm. Unlike the pets waiting for their special people, these animals weren't playing, but simply lying on the green grass, forlornly and miserably staring out at the pathway leading to the Bridge. The recent arrival knew he had no choice but to join them. And so, he took his place among them, just watching the pathway and waiting.

One of the newest arrivals at the Bridge, who was waiting for his special people, could not understand what he had just witnessed and asked one of the pets who had been there for some time to explain it to him.

"That poor dog was a rescue, sent to the pound when his owner grew tired of him. They way you see him now, with graying fur and sad, cloudy eyes, was exactly the way he was when he was put into the kennels. He never, ever made it out and passed on only with the love and comfort that the kennel workers could give him as he left his miserable and unloved existence on Earth for good. Because he had no family or special person to give his love, he has nobody to escort him across the Bridge."

The first animal thought about this for a minute and then asked, "So what will happen now?"

As he was about to receive his answer, the clouds suddenly parted and the all-invasive gloom lifted. Coming toward the Bridge could be seen a single figure...a person who, on Earth, had seemed quite ordinary...a person who, just like the elderly dog, had just left Earth forever. This figure turned toward a group of the sad animals and extended outstretched palms. The sweetest sounds they had ever heard echoed gently above them and all were bathed in a pure and golden light. Instantly, each was young and healthy again, just as they had been in the prime of life.

From within the gathering of pets waiting for their special people, a group of animals emerged and moved toward the pathway. As they came close to the passing figure, each bowed low and each received a tender pat on the head or a scratch behind the ears. Their eyes grew even brighter as the figure softly murmured each name. Then, the newly-restored pets fell into line behind the figure and quietly followed this person to the Bridge, where they all crossed together.

The recent arrival who had been watching, was amazed. "What happened?"

"That was a rescuer," came the answer. "That person spent a lifetime trying to help pets of all kinds. The ones you saw bowing in respect were those who found new homes because of such unselfish work. They will cross when their families arrive. Those you saw restored were ones who never found homes. When a rescuer arrives, they are permitted to perform one, final act of rescue. They are allowed to escort those poor pets that couldn't place on Earth across the Rainbow Bridge. You see, all animals are special to them...just as they are special to all animals."

"I think I like rescuers," said the recent arrival.

"So does God," was the reply.

All of the dogs at LBR would like to bid a sad farewell to Lauren, one of the very special breed of humans called rescuers. When we are sick and hurt, when we are abandoned and alone, when all other humans have turned away from us, rescuers are there. For some of us, they help us heal and find our forever homes. For others, they give us a loving companion to help ease our way to the Bridge. For all of us, they give us love. For that, they hold a very special place in all our hearts, and in the hearts of the people lucky enough to become our forever families.

Lauren died very unexpectedly this week, at only 23. She loved boxers, volunteered with LBR, and planned to become a foster home as soon as she had a house. She had a generous spirit, which her parents recognized by asking for donations to LBR in lieu of flowers. The boxers here on Earth will miss you very much, Lauren, but I know there will be many dogs waiting for you at the Rainbow Bridge for your final rescue.

Pet fair!

Boy, Pet Fair is SO much fun. There are awesome LBR dogs all over the place, all ready to give boxer kisses and snuggles to anyone who comes by. I don't go to PF anymore because I've already found my furever home, and Mom says everyone would (naturally) want to adopt me if I went so it's not fair to the other dogs. But Mom goes and gets lots of smell mail for me to catch up on all the news. Let's see what we have...

This pretty girl is Tulia. Her coat's in pretty rough shape right now because she had a lot of nutritional issues. But she's eating right now, so she'll lose that boniness and grow a proper sleek fur coat soon. In the meantime, she's as sweet as can be!

Look at Reno pose! He's such a handsome guy, and he listened to his foster mom so well.

This handsome guy is Pepper! He's still just a puppy, just under a year old, but he was really calm most of PF. Mom said he was getting loved on by all the little kids and just soaked it up.

And here's Nikiya! Mom just LOVES her She's only 5-6 years old, even though she's got a pretty gray face, and she's very calm and sweet. You can't see them in this picture, but she has sassy pink toenails!

Look at that pretty Miss Demeanor concentrate! I think someone was holding a treat. Mom said Miss D got lots of attention from the kiddos too. She doesn't do real well in PF, because all the strange dogs around stress her out, but she has some furbuddies at home she loves to play with.

Look, it's Joplin! This little girl got lots of attention for her beautiful coat and because she's still so tiny.

Don't forget Heath! He may have toffee in his head, but he's definitely a good boy. He loves to lay in the "frog dog" pose with his legs splayed out behind him, soaking up that nice cool tile.

Maybe you should come to our next PF and meet these awesome dogs for yourself! LBR has a PF twice a month, once in Garland and once in Hurst. Some folks from LBR got the chance to meet Dr. Marty Becker, the man behind the big contest we're trying to win. He finished off his nationwide tour at a Petco right here in DFW, so our Pack Leader Sharon (in the white shirt) and some other LBR volunteers and alums went to visit him.

We had to show him the awesome work LBR does! So we brought a few alums along to work their wiles on him.

Dr. Becker loved them all, of course! I'm told he and Mulligan had a special connection.

Our Pack Leader promised Dr. Becker that we'd win his contest, so don't make a liar out of her! The contest ends THIS WEEK, so we need to really get out the vote!

Cinderella's biopsy results came back totally NEGATIVE!!!!!!! No nasty old cancer for her! Mom was so happy when she found out, she started crying. I don't know why humans do that, but I gave her and my sissy lots of kisses to celebrate.

Thank you for all your support, Maggie Mae and your amazing friends. You really helped Mom and Cinderella feel better during this very hard time. Power of the Paw works every time!!

Meet the lovely NIKIYA!

Nikiya is a fun-loving gal who loves to have her toenails painted hot pink to match her hot personality! She's only about 5 years old -- maybe she needs a little Miss Clairol to tone down her grays? She's a very petite girl and is very friendly with large and small dogs and small humans! She lives with a two year old now and is wonderful with him. Her foster mom calls her a "shadow boxer" because she's always following in her humans' shadows! She misses them very much when they're gone and sings for them, so she's probably not a good bet in an apartment. You just have to stop and smell the roses.

New LBR foster dog Bus Stop is learning that lesson! He decided to hit the road after his family didn't feed him and let him get into this kind of condition. He turned up at a bus stop, trying to find a way out of town to a better life. Fortunately, the nice animal control people found him and kept him safe until LBR could get him into a foster home. Life will be a whole lot better for you now, buddy!

A personal request

Hey everybody! I know I usually post about all the awesome boxers at LBR, but today I have a personal request.

This is my sister, Cinderella. She's an LBR alum just like me.

But Cinderella's been sick lately, and my mom and I are really worried about her. She had a bunch of scary tests at the doctor today, and he narrowed it down to two options. One is a kind of inflammation that he can treat really easily with some medicine. The other is cancer, and at her age there isn't really much you can do to treat it. The worst part is, we won't know until next Wednesday which one it is! The doctor took some biopsies and has to wait for the test results, and since it's a holiday weekend that means it'll take even longer.

So Mom, Cinderella, and I are going to have a really long weekend. If you can spare any prayers, good thoughts, or crossed paws for her, we would really appreciate it!
