Jessie the camel has one hump!

Momma KEEPS singing that song to me, folks! I had my furst at-home camel treatment last night, and I think we both muddled through pretty well.

This is my fluid bag. It makes things go quicker if it's hung up high, so Momma put it on a hangar and hung it over the door between the bedroom and bathroom. We did it in the bedroom so she could shut the door and keep Casey and Pigeon out.

Then she took the needle out and STUCK me with it! I didn't mind too much. She stuck herself furst, so at least I wasn't going through it alone. (Not on purpose, she's just a little clumsy. BOL.)

But then I got some cookies to keep me occupied, so I didn't really notice that the needle was still in me.

I started to get a little restless after the cookies were gone. Momma was trying to keep me still so the needle wouldn't pop out. Even Giraffe couldn't keep me occupied anymore!

"You should've had more cookies, Momma!"

Just look at the HUGE hump I got! Momma started singing about my "lovely lady lump" right about now.

And we're all done!! Thanks fur taking such good care of me, Momma! I'm sure it'll be easier next time...as long as you bring more cookies!

  2. Good job, Mom and Jessie. Mom said if you could do it in the kitchen or laundry room, she could smear some peanut butter on the door of the fridge or washer/dryer, and that would keep you busy licking away as the drip did its thing.

    1. The only problem is that I'm on a low-protein diet for my kidneys, so I don't get peanut butter. But Momma is thinking of freezing something for me that I can lick, or getting me a nice new chewbone.

      Jessie!

  13. You and your mom did a great job. Our mom had that job with our Angel Sister Nina and a few times when she stuck the needle in she would go right through the other side of the pinched skin and the saline would squirt all over Nina. That didn't happen too often though but don't feel too bad if it happens to you.

  15. You both did a most excellent job! Brave Bears both of you :) What about giving Jesse a raw bone to keep her occupied? Or a frozen turkey neck? We give those to Wilhelmina even though she is on a kibble diet and she does very well on them and they keep her interested and occupied! You could also fill a kong toy with pure pumpkin (not pie filling) and apple pieces, freeze it and give it to her to lick and work on while she gets her meds.Hope these suggestions are helpful :)
