Hi! I'm Hammer!

My name is Hammer and I was asked by Cubby & Rissa if I would like to help them on the blogger site, so here I am. I'm going to have to get my own computer though, because, well, mom is on there ALL the time.

Anyway, as I said, my name is Hammer and I am on the far side of 7 years old, but I certainly don't let that slow me down. I have 2 boxer siblings, and somewhere lurking around are these tiny black things my mom calls "the evil kitties".

Here's me and Booker hanging out at home. I'm the handsome fawn on the right, Booker is the big black dog. He drools a lot.

I also have a sister named Ginger, she likes stuffies. A lot. She always has a stuffie around, and she's kinda mean if you try to take them. She needs to chill out some days. She also spends a lot of time upside down, we don't know why.

My mom calls me the "inspiration behind Legacy Boxer Rescue". I don't know what that is, but as long as she gives me hugs and chicken jerky I guess I'm okay being an inspiration.

I have to go now, mom says she has filing to do. I'd rather she chill out and let me snuggle in her lap, but I know she's busy with all those rescue babies, and she tells me that Isis is going to have babies soon! We can't wait to see the babies!

TaTa for now...Hammer

Puppy Watch

We're gonna have puppies!!! Well Isis is going to have puppies. She's a pregnant momma that LBR pulled yesterday and we're all waiting patiently for the puppies to get here. She's doing well so far just resting and getting used to her new surroundings.

Don't worry Isis, your new foster mommy Lorie will take great care of you and your babies!

I hope they get here soon and Isis looks like she hopes so too!

I've mentioned before how much I love puppies right?? I sure hope I get to play with them when they get big enough!

Whisper

This is my friend Whisper. She's an LBR foster dog being fostered by Sally. Not only is Sally an awesome foster mom but she thinks I'm pretty awesome too and she has her own personal boxer named Diabla who's a very pretty brindle just like me!

When Whisper came into LBR's care she was so malnourished she could barely walk. It was very sad and I felt bad for her.

But look at Whisper now! She's gained weight and feels sooo much better. She even plays now! That's a big improvement from where she was. Good job Sally and LBR, keep it up!

If you'd like to help LBR help more dogs like Whisper then go vote!

Leave It

Here's my annoying foster sister learning Leave it. See how she just ignores the treat that's in mom's hand?

It's about time that mom taught her that because those are MY toys and she needs to LEAVE
IT!

Pet Fair Fun!

Yesterday Legacy had an adoption fair at the Petco in Hurst.  I wasn't allowed to go for some reason, but I hear that everyone had a great time, and there were over 20 boxers there!

Here are a couple of lap dogs and their chairs.  On the right is Aphrodite and her foster mom, Angela.  On the left is Gracie and Leslie, who was boxer-sitting.

Here's a close-up of pretty Gracie.  Gracie is a wonderful boxer, who loves to perch on the back of the couch like a cat!

Here is Paulie.  He is an older gentleman like me, and he is very happy in his foster home.

If you come out to pet fair, you can meet lots of boxers and volunteers.  Expect a little barking though.  We boxers like to talk, you know.

This is Marnie - she is a very pretty girl.

This is Button, sticking his tongue out at you, with his foster mom, Mel.  That boy always has his tongue sticking out!

In the green shirts are Jason and KC.  They have more lap dogs.  You probably didn't know that boxers are lap dogs, but we definitely are.  These boxers are Hopper and Buster Blue.  Hopper barely had any hair when KC and Jason agreed to take him in, but look at him now!

Pet fair is fun, but very exhausting.  I can testify to that from experience, but I can also show you.  Here are Hopper and Buster Blue on the way home.  Lights out!

Hi! I'm Rissa!

I'm Rissa aka The Princess aka Bossy Boots. My parents came up with Bossy Boots. Just because when I want something I insist on letting them know and I expect them to get it immediately. I don't think they understand that a Princess should have her every demand answered asap! Their human what can you do?

I live with my brother Buster Brown and my sister Maggie. I don't like my sister very much but that's a post for another day. I love my big brother though even if he is old and grumpy sometimes.

My parents adopted me from Legacy, I was their 18th foster. This newest girl Molly is a P.A.I.N! When she first got here she didn't have any manners at all and was always annoying me. Thank goodness she and Maggie get along because now both of them leave me alone. My very favorite thing about being a part of Legacy is when puppies come to get vaccinated. I LOVE puppies and wish they'd visit more often!

Introducing ME!

Hi everyone!

My name is Cubby - I am the handsome boxer, and the black mutt that I am using as a pillow is my sister, Dakota.

I was adopted from Legacy Boxer Rescue in June of 2005.  Shortly after that, I made my moms start volunteering to save boxers - big mistake.  They tried bringing home other dogs for fostering, but I put a quick stop to that.  Now, we do other types of work for Legacy.

Unfortunately, that means sometimes they leave me alone to go to meetings, visit potential adopters, or go to adoption fairs or fundraising events.  Sometimes, I get to go meet the potential adopters, too.  I love that, especially when they have little children who I can lick.

Now it seems they are putting me to work on this blog.  It's a hard life, paying back the people who pulled me out of the shelter and saved my life, but it's worth it to save more boxers (as long as they don't come live with me)!

The things we put up with

Finally! We get to show the world what we have to put up with. I'm Maggie and my parents have been fostering for Legacy for 5 years now. That's 5 years of rotating dogs and sharing my stuff. You'd think after fostering and falling for me (I was their 2nd foster) they would have quit while they were ahead. Apparently not. Look at what I have to endure.

That's MY monkey, may it RIP.

That's MY bed!

That's Molly our current foster. She's just a kid and thinks everything I have, she needs too. She's lucky I'm so patient.
